My AK47 Arrived!!! *pics up*

If you can get a 1311, do it. It is the most practical blade i own for camp work. It's long enough to make a great machete, but it is also useable for skinning (I used it to shuck a deer this year), and it's SOOOO light for it's size. It was a steal at the original offering price.

The rucki is a neat blade. It is very very stabby. I wouldn't put it in the same class as the AK for an offensive weapon though. It doesn't have enough length to really slash effectively.

The AK is the perfect length and the balance is unbelievable. I have a little training in katana, so that's my preferred sword type, and everything i know about katana transfers perfectly to the AK. The handle is long enough for 2 hand forms, and the blade is the perfect length. It has a similar handling to the Tactical wakizashi from Hanwei, but seems MUCH more solid.

I can kinda understand why it wasn't a big seller. Who really NEEDS a sword (until you do)... but IMHO, it's the best SHTF blade I have ever handled

Now, think about this............... Original price on these AK's for the initial release, years ago, was under 5 bills, if I remember correctly (I was not onto Busse's yet, and this is one of those "I'm kicking my self" offerings).

They were about 600.

Newbie question I know, but whats the going rate for one of these from the custom shop these days if you don't mind telling? ;)

Price will depend on what you want done. This particular one was part of a trade deal with Jerry so even I do not know exactly what it cost.

:thumbup:Very nice! You are ready for some serious zombie killing! Michonne would be jealous:D

I agree! I traded him a rucki for 3 of them. I can't believe how far out of his way he went to design the baldric with me. It's totally different than anything he has made before. I really hope he offers it to other people. The design is beautiful

Would love to see pics of the rig being worn

i'll get some up this evening. It's a 3 strap system with a center ring that sits near the middle of the chest. Pictures will take me a few hours

the blade straps on your back at an angle with the handle coming up over your right shoulder making it easy to draw one handed over your shoulder.

The sheath is thin enough that i can comfortable wear a backpack over the sheath if needed
