My baby boy finally arrived!

He's a real mellow little guy--hardly fusses even except for when he needs food or his diaper changed. He had a good latch but with poor suction, so we were forced to bottle feed him. Really disappointing, as we were planning on breastfeeding him. :o Oh well--he's healthy at least, and while formula isn't as good as breast milk they sure have come a long way with it! :)

Heartfelt congratulations, buddy!

Great looking woman and baby. My kids are all in their forties now: trust me when I say that they're a lot cuter when they're babies. Other than all the sleep you're going to lose over the next little while, you have a lot to look forward to. It will be your greatest adventure ever.

I'm a bit surprised you didn't use a Condor to cut the cord, though.

Again, heartiest congratulations!

Congrats man, thats just terrific. Welcome to being a dad. Its awesome.:)

I know you got him a machete already didnt ya?? ;):D

When I talked to the hospital midwives about cutting the cord with my own knife they said it would be fine as long as it wasn't too big and was all stainless steel, so unfortunately that ruled out a number of potential choices--if it were possible I probably would have made the cut with my RAT Pack ESEE-3! I bought the Buck because it matched the specs perfectly, and I was able to convert it to a full mirror-polished zero grind for maximum cord-cutting ease. :D

Not yet, but I'll be grabbing one of these for him soon. :p

Congrats! A machete maniac joins the world!

I'm sure he will be! Our cat, Titus, LOVES my machetes--any time I sit on the floor and file/work on one he comes over and tries rubbing on/batting/biting it!

How's that work?

Oh well, I probably wouldn't understand anyway. :(

Congratulations to all!!! I am surprised, though, that the hospital staff didn't try and get you locked up.

I was just reflecting back on how things have changed. When my daughter was born (1967), I asked the nursing staff if I could watch the birth and received an adamant NO!!!. They looked at me like I was some kind of pervert. :o

Things have changed so much for the better with regards to childbirth--it's really quite incredible. My lady went through the whole thing un-medicated, too--it was tough for her, but she's a really strong woman! We're glad she did it like that though! It made a HUGE difference in how alert he was right out of the womb. None of that groggy baby stuff here! He popped out with a healthy little yell and his eyes wide open, and then as soon as he was in his momma's arms he shushed right up and looked straight into our eyes. It was incredible. :)

congrats! That little one will completely change your life!

He already has! ;)

Honestly I don't understand how I was able to live before this little guy was around--he makes everything so AWESOME--even the not-so awesome parts. :D

congrats, looks like a fine young man. Mom looks pretty good, too. I know that expression well.
