I have achieved a whole new level in my relationship with my postman... He brought my Golok yesterday. My wife bought a used one off e-bay a while back, but it had no ground edge. I sent it back to Mike Stewart at BRKT and he told me that it was the 1st prototype golok. I told them that I really wanted a working knife and Mike said he would send me new one (Grampa - I did call Donna, but my new one was already on the way, sorry).
Anyhow, mine came in green micarta and after a brief test, I have decided that it will become my chief weapon in the war on wild roses (it sails through them). I think the weight makes it more effective for the task... The only thing I would change on the golok is the sheath (hmmm, I wonder what Ilbruche is up to...). Like my Rogue, the golok sheath is not equipped with loop, it has a slide-through sewn to the back. I find the set-up to be rigid, and the grip pokes me in the side. Overall, I love the way this knife feels, everyone needs one these!
