Mine came with the orange G-10 handles. I've waited so long to get one, I'm not sure I would have sent it back, bent or not. One question to anyone who might know. I had heard that this new batch of Goloks was made out of A2. Anyone know if they stayed with 0170-6, or switched?

They are 1095. They were going to use A2, but it proved to be too expensive.

If you have Golok that you are disatisfied with Bark River will take care of you. However, go over and read on the "other" fourm the discussion taking place over there. Mike knows more about heat treatment than most of us and he is satisifed that the 1095 in question here is properly heat treated to do the job. If that means a few blades off a centimeter or two so be it. Personally I want a blade that will perform.
