Nice to see I wasn't given the chance to comment on the post concerning my character. Quite the cowardly act by Blues the moderator/accuser. He made his final statement after I contacted him via e-mail then slammed the door shut on the thread.

I offered to change the scales on Blues' knives as a favor(cost of materials and shipping). He said no hurry take your time. I left town on Memorial day and was away from home until the 20th of June. I'm a college instructor so I have summers off. To my surprise, I returned to find several nasty borderline stalker e-mails and phone messages concerning the knives by Blues. After a week and several other e-mail and phone incidents, I decided to send the knives back unfinished. I can't believe I actually considered finishing the work last week just to help clear things up.

I sent the knives back to BLUES yesterday at about 10:00 a.m.
One knife is near completion (only needs finish sanding, polishing and cleanup).
The 2nd knife is untouched.
I'm out 5 hours of work in my garage plus the cost of materials and shipping. Fine with me as this isn't about the money.

I'm amazed that BLUES tossed this out on on a public forum after I offered to do him this favor. I am even more disappointed that he would open up the "BAD-augustus88" thread then slam it shut before I could get a chance to comment. I had no intention of coming here to get in a pissing contest or to exchange names, etc. I just can't believe that a forum moderator would make accusations followed by a feeble acknowledgment of his mistake, then not allow me to state my case.

Augustus88 has every right to vent and I have no issue with his doing so here.
I'm perfectly willing to take the flogging.

I allowed my suspicions to overrule my reason where I should have known better but felt offended that somebody might take advantage of my trust.

My only defense (for my thinking, not how I handled the matter) was that after leaving messages I saw that someone had been logged on the site under his screen name on more than one occasion. I couldn't understand why then he wouldn't reply.

From there it was a quick trip down the slippery slope of hurt feelings and suspicion.

I was wrong to feel that way, admit it freely here and apologize not only to augustus88 (who is free to accept or not) but to anyone else on the forums who had come to trust my judgement which clearly at this point was in error.

I was wrong. I apologize and am willing to make it up to augustus88 in the future should he ever allow me the opportunity to recify what I put wrong.
 
I can see how this could happen,and Augustus,Blues did explain & apologize.I'm sure,that every intelligent BF's member,can see,no real harm done or wrong doing on either part
Just a big misunderstanding,that can happen & unfortunatly did so.
Forget about it & have a good Sunday...

I have been able to communicate with augustus and Blues about this situation off the forum, and am still doing so. I can assure you all that there were rational extenuating circumstances on both sides of this misunderstanding, in my opinion.

I'm not taking sides here, and I freely admit that I am trying to mediate a win/win situation for all involved. Blues is my friend and that is no secret.

I have optimism that this situation can be resolved with mutual respect. I just share this in the hope that people will move cautiously with any response to this thread.

Mistakes were made. We're all human, and we all make them sometimes. Yes, even moderators are human too...thank goodness. :)

What makes any community healthy and stronger is the ability to have compassion and forgiveness in its' ethical code.

I know where olive branches can be found gentlemen.

Just for the record, for me, your reputation remains firmly intact here. Extenuating do happen, and misunderstandings happen as well. That's been shown to be the case here, and I would be more than comfortable to do trades, sales, or any other transactions with you if they come up.

You and Blues are both class acts and, although I don't pretend to speak for others here, I would guess that everyone else here agrees with me that you're good to go as far as your character and reputation is concerned. SO, if that is your concern, no damage done.

Well, here's something I don't see very often, anymore. :eek:

People willing to admit mistakes, in public, and actually offer heart-felt apologies. [I may have spent too many decades in Washington DC.]

FWIW, I think both Blues and Augustus88 are gentlemen ... their reputations are intact, in my book. Anyone can misinterpret, miscommunicate, make a mistake ... not everyone is willing to apologize. :thumbup:

I would bow in both your directions, but this is probably the wrong century for that. :)

Consider the hatchet buried, but keep in mind that I tend to "heal" slowly. Sorry if I don't get all warm and fuzzy right away. Give me a few days to cool off and we'll talk.

I'll be more than happy to put this behind us and happier still to be able to consider you a friend again.

I'm quite content to accommodate your timetable. When you're ready, I'll be ready.
