My CRK experience

I'm pretty sure i read somewhere that CRK said you should not use loctite on their knives but that's up to you. Good Luck!

The sebenza 25 actually comes with a tube of loctite in the box. So yes, the pivot screw is supposed to have some loctite on it as you cannot fully tighten it, a consequence of not having the pivot bushing like the 21.

Just ordered a smooth sharpening stone and some 1000gt and 2000gt wet and dry sandpaper...

Sebenza mods coming right up... [emoji28]...sheesh!

Also in regards to blade deployment, try pushing the thumbstud in a direction that is parallel to the points or shoulders of the front most finger choil. By doing this, you use the thumbstud to rotate the blade around the pivot in the direction of blade travel.

Or you could use your thumb nail, put your thumb tip in between the frame and thumbstud and roll your thumb tip up while keeping light contact with the blade, in essence pushing your thumbs knuckle down. Doing this you use that force to break the hold of the detent and you nail takes the force from the stud

Pushing straight up or sideways fights the blade path on a knife with Really tight tolerances which leads to a bum thumb and pain...

Good luck and Great pics everyone. Next on my order list is likely a small micarta insingo. Just "stuck" with a plain jane large 21 atm, lol.

Yesterday I used some of the Sebenza grease and liberally applied it to the bearing blowing it in with some compressed air...didn't notice much difference.

Today however it's like an entirely different knife, blade is deploying effortlessly and even drops on closing !

Took delivery of the new oilstone and wet and dry just in case...

When applying CRK grease I think you are much better of taking the knife down and getting it to the surfaces it should be on. Remember; a little goes a looooong way!

I loved my small 21 so much, that I bought a second one just like it. Plain jane one. My next one is definitely going to be a small micarta. I've actually ended up really liking the silver parts. I'm actually thinking of sending one of my small 21s to get double stainless lugs and stainless accents put on it.

Latest EDC evolution...
Sebenza 25 S35VN, just arrived.

The blade is really stiff to deploy, in fact I can't do it with the thumb studs and takes two hands to open.

Can anyone offer some friendly advice to ease the opening for a new Sebenza user?

Did you square this away? I have a 25 that is super stiff, almost to the point I don't want the knife. I broke it down and cleaned it and it's still stiff. I was going to send it to the spa.

I really doubt that sending it in will help. Mine was stiff and you just have to use it use it use it and it's smooth up a bit. Also do tweak the pivot, it will make a difference.

Does either 25 happen to have a 7/10/14 birth date? If so, I might have a solution. Lol

Yes, I used the Sebenza grease which spurted out all over the blade pivot so to clean it off I used compressed air which blew it into the bearing and the knife now works perfectly.

Accidental awesome.
Go figure...[emoji3]
