My daypack/BOB

nice kit man!!!!

can you post additional pics of the knife sheath and pouch setup? (ie a sideshot)

hey brothers, you all are well on your ways to kick ass bobs, myself and a few buddies spent a ton of time working on this project, i dont think that you can have emough gear in your bob simply do to the fact that you will always need or forget something, but we made tactical bobs so we added ammo and firearms to ours. my bob is housed around a vodoo mamouth tactical pack that has a daypack already attatched to it, and a ton of mollie points. i carry a sw mp 15t with 6 30 round p mags a glock 23 with 4 13 round mags and a winchester super x2 shotgun. Now i throw in enough ammo to fill all my mags once and i carry 50 shot shells including buck, birdshot, and slugs. hope this helps. oh by the way my pack weighed in at 80 pounds i have every thing i need for at least 3 months to thrive by my self and take care of most anything that can go wrong

I just have one question Mac, were you guilty of a typo when you said you carry 100 YARDS of 550 cord? Did you mean 100 feet? That's a lot of cord to be carrying around, but if you have a need for it (either obvious or unseen) I'm sure it can be justified :D .

Nice set up, macgregor22. It's always nice to see what others are doing so I can steal ideas from them!

Looks like you pack a bit more than I take in my daypack, but bit less than I have in my BOB. One thing I don't see is food. Do you have any in there? I consider calorie-dense, ready-to-eat food almost as vital a component as water, especially in colder weather.

Yes, there are 2 500kcal energy bars.
The kit is mainly packed for short trips in the woods or suburban SHTF situations.
Obviously if I had to really get out of dodge I have a bigger bag packed up ready to go.

Is the 72 hour candle the thing in the green and white striped can? BTW-- what's the jacket you're wearing in the pics?

Yes, that is the candle.

The jacket is the ME green tad gear ranger hoodie V4.0.
Its well worth the price tag, great piece of gear.
Wind resistant, durable, keeps you just right when it comes to warmth.

I was just thinking what an advantage I have living in Texas. Here for most of the year fire is not necessary and I don't need to carry any extra bulky clothing. I will try and get my bag posted up tonight.

Yes, if I have time I will do it tonight.
If not I will post it on monday.

Basicly its this pouch

ziptied to this sheath

with the flashlight and lightstick held on with a commercial elastic ranger band.
The leg strap is from a gerber LMF2.

The set up carries flatter to the body then the survival sheath but it offers a bigger, wider pouch.
I came up with the idea after I wasn't satisfied with the capacity of the spec-ops survival.

Yes that was a typo, sorry I have been thinking in yards recently. :p

M22,

I like your set-up. The Hell Razor is a very good knife IMHO, nice size for a lot of tasks, I've attached mine to the side of a pack at times... How do you like the Chaos? I've looked at those, I have a Hawg that has just never felt just right...

BTW, the medkit which is a great base kit can be bought at wally world.
I have added alot to it, I will post some pictures of that tomorrow.

Alright, I'll stop posting now. :D

I got the same kit and added my own stuff to it as well... but they didn't have woodland camo when I went... it was bright emergency red... which ok cause it's easy to spot in low light... I actually wished it was neon orange or green.

I'm lucky that I have a dealer close by.
When I bought my Chaos I went there intentionally looking for a great daypack that would blend in with civilians and military gear.
I tried out lots of Camelbak's while there and eventually settled on the Chaos.
I think it is very versatile and the perfect size as a daypack, it works perfect when moving of riding the motorcycle also since it was designed for mountain bikers.
