My do-it-yourself spa treatment

I decided to blast my Insingo back to new. Lockface and the detent triangle was masked off with aluminum tape. Everything else was blasted. Quick swipes left and right on each side did the trick. Once again, it came out PERFECT!

Wow. I love the worn look of my CRK's, but those newly blasted CRK's look awesome! Brand new Sebs in no time.

What about masking off wood inlays on a Seb and giving the same quick blast to the polished scales? (I prefer sand-blasted to polished... that's why I love plain janes and Micarta Sebbies.)

Thanks yall! I love the worn in look too, but it was getting boring so I decided to give it a make over. I can always put the marks back on the knife!

wow well done Jonny - your CRKs look great!!! *calp* *clap* *clap*

Thanks Acadian! I threw in a little coarser sand, about 10%, mixed in with the green sand this time. It's almost an exact match to CRK's factory finish, which gives it some sparkly speckles throughout the finish!

Yes, I don't "spa" mine ether.
Note, I use Aluminum Oxide with good results.

We have some aluminum oxide here, but I've never used it as a media though! You got any pics? I always try new media out on a scrap piece of titanium that I have just to see what the texture will be like first!

Sand blasting can make the most worn out things look new again!

91 Bravo^^^ wow dude, that came out awesome! I like the way your knife was "worn", but man, that final result!

Thanks Lem! I like the fresh look too. it will get worn in over time, again!

What course grit did you use for the aluma-oxide? I have 120 grit in my blaster right now. I've blasted a few knives & firearms to Cerakote them, & they looked similar after the blasting.
