My dog needs your help again

Morning update, he had some food, we gave him 200 cc of fluid and went down the stairs, outside and came back in and up the stair without assistance.

That's good news. I hope he continues to improve.

Well, I still haven't recovered, emotionally, from the loss of my own "last dog."

However, my wife's miserable little mutt (;)) called "Pooka" sends his very best to Harry ... and hopes he's already feeling better.

Oh yes. Also, something else about your favorite pair of shoes. But I couldn't make that out.:)

Hope it all works out for you. Had to put my wifes dog down today after 14 years. We lost our Killer Dawg in the fall after 16 years. Losing your pets sucks. :(

Peanut, Luke, Homer, Bart, Dillard, Bernie, and Rocky (and me) all wish him the best and hope he continues to get better. Dogs rock.

PS I also have 3 cats maggie, lisa, and KC. They were all rescues so many came with their names and they stuck, except for the Simpsons theme which were named by me. I would never name a poor dog Dillard or Bernie :D

:thumbup:All the smoke and prayers this old man has coming your friends way--

Thanks for all the support.

News update, we thought he was getting a bit better, went to vet, interpretation of chest xrays was metastised cancer but not conclusive. which I knew was going to be the case. Did spinal xray to check for spots but everything is normal. Which I also predicted would happen.

He's on a broader spectrum antibiotic now, only drinks broth now, doing subcu fluids still, Vet thinks either still cancer somewhere or CNS neuropathy. We'll try to hang on for some more days and hope he improves.

Three dachshunds and I are here in Spokane rooting for you guys and sending all the best.
Steve

Thanks for all the support. today was his last day, He had slowly gone down hill this week and this morning had tremors. It was also clear last night when we bathed him there was something that caused him extreme pain in his chest.

This was our miracle dog. The first was when he was born dead and runt of the litter. As the breeder took him out to bury him she thought she'd try some CPR on him. he revived and became not only the largest dog of his litter mates, but IMO the smartest and most handsome.

Miracle number two was when we had to take a paw off last summer, 3 days later he had bounced back and a week and he was fully himself, and continued to do agility and obedience on three legs. Gung ho all the way.

Prayed for miracle three, but it didn't happen, he was ready to go today, no eating or drinking, accepted love but got tried, and said, "Just let me sleep dad ok?" Never had a dog with so much heart and courage.

My advice today if I'm allowed the luxury, is to make sure every single being, animal or human, knows you love them. And if they are any amends that need to be made, make them, cause you never know.

Thanks.

I think you and your dog reflected each other. You took super care of him, just as he set a great example for you.

:(

Just can't think what to say. Clearly, his was a good and full life.

Think I'll go give my wife's messy little hairball a hug.:o

My deepest condolences........
Everyday with our 12 year old Husky, at this point, is a gift.
Know how you feel..... been there before....will be there again.
Remember the wonderful times you had.
