My EDC Rotation - Top 7 - one for every day of the week!

Mine are all displayed on a 54" table precisely where I open my eyes in the morning, next to the bed lol. I choose one to lay out for morning, just before sleep.

Next morning, stand over them and look at every single one, choose. Last evenings choice is never the one that goes in the pocket. Because morning mood is never the same as nights. Really just an excuse to admire and choose twice daily. lol

I know the temptation to debate semantics on this forum, but any reasonable knife enthusiast should be able to ascertain the nature of this post with little difficulty.
For sure! It's like how the meaning of the word "literally" has been changing over the years due to constant and prolonged misuse by the young folk.

But I digress. What you carry and what I carry have no crossover whatsoever, and that's great! I look forward to your photos.

I dunno. I got a lot of knives, and I frequently carry both a traditional and a modern. What I carry usually depends on what knife strikes my fancy and what I plan on doing that day. But other times I'll carry the same knife for a month straight. The only constant is the Vic Rambler on my key chain.

Eeeedeeeseee was a trio of no-name folders through high school, then a Gerber Multiplier and a SAK Classic of some kind ever since. In the following 3 decades, my keys ate the scales off of 2 of the Vics, while the Gerber's array of usefulness has seen less and less use, so it might be partly out of boredom that I started acquiring modern folders and entered this trial phase of the last few years. I'm not quite ready to cut it down to 7, though I am carrying a different knife every day in addition to my lifers.

I am doing maybe something like "orbitation" of knives.
I maintain a group of knives that fit my current lifestyle and tasks. And they change as my lfe changes.
Individual knives can go out of order, getting dull or dirty, that's why i have a group of them.
This way I can have one folder in my pants, one in my shorts, one clipped to my bathers, one in my bag, one on the nightstand, on the deck.. so I don't really have to make decisions, or remember which one is the next one in line. I just use them as they are literally orbiting in the space around me. Hope this makes sense. I am not drunk or high i promise :)

Way too organized for me.
I keep my knives mainly in two places. I trade out some times once a week other times 3xs a day.
Whatever I’m feeling like carrying for the day.

Back in my old apartment I had 2 bookshelves each shelf had fixed blades neatly arranged in an assortment, most of them never left the shelf and most of the attention they received were a periodic check for rust as a good number were carbon steel or some flavor of high carbon steel, in the summer months the room would get hot and damp and surface rust was commonplace
Since then I try to keep my assortment under 10, 7 is preferable as its easier to manage. Ive learned the more you have, the less each one gets used
Most Recently my assortment were a bunch of folders sharing a drawer with socks.
Daily selection became random

At the risk of flexing, these are my top 7 EDCs. I've been formerly collecting for about 20 years but enjoying knives in general much longer. This past April I retired from 35 years in software/database development and decided to enjoy the fruits of my labor going forward. By now I've seen several friends and colleagues pass away for one reason or another. La vie est courte, il faut en profiter (Life is short, so enjoy).

My only limitations are a self imposed cap of about $1000 because I have other hobbies as well:), and no safe queens. In the photo from top to bottom and why they made my list:
1. Medford M48: Nearly 4" blade but when folded carries smaller than many 3.5" knives. Love the burgundy color. Yeah Medford tends to talk a lot - whether or not anyone's listening, but I'll overlook that for this particular knife.
2. Shirogorov Stellar: Sleek lines overall, beautiful walk and talk.
3. Hinderer XM-18 Skinny Sheepsfoot: Just an all round great frame lock with a very useful blade shape. Tough and begs to be used.
4. Hinderer Eklipse Skinny Hollow Grind: The newest addition and instantly in my top 7. Been a fan when only ZT could do it justice, in the venerable ZT0392, and have been waiting ever since for Hinderer to produce their own version in a skinny. Just checks all the boxes for me.
5. Prometheus SPD Invictus SP: Magnacut steel, thinner blade stock than the terravantium version. Yes, it's made by Bestech of China, but at least it was designed and produced in the USA. Sometimes my interest in knives outweigh other considerations. In this case I love the retro blade and handle shape. Light weight and light clip make it a wonderful carry in gym shorts.
6. Holt Morpeus: Gorgeous milling, walk and talk is perfection straight out of the box.
7. REK Sparrow: The most perfect front flipper I've ever handled. Thinnest knife of the 7, small and unobtrusive. The most carried.

Had a quite a difficult time choosing between orange and green today….flipped a coin and orange won! To avoid a repeat of the same dilemma tomorrow, I’ve already opted for the Tuya Caladan V2. 😀
