My Emerson Challenge

Not surprised, Dooku.
Hi Al. ^
I have been seeing Emersons for sale here in the Exchange. BIG mistake.

That's great Dooku77!

Yeah, there has been a few lately on the Exchange. Perhaps folks are preparing for the upcoming holiday expenses.

Thanks all. There has been a lot of Irish commanders lately which is surprising. So many nib Emerson's for sale at literally have the price. Foolish men.

I bought a cqc-8 a while and since then purchased the horseman, I've also tried many other knife brands but your right my emersons always end up in my pockets.

Thanks, Dad. ^ :D
Which one are YOU keeping?

I'll have to figure something else out for me. I still have the Combat Karambit. I bought a bunch of the Kershaw Emerson's for my younger sons. They love them. Honestly, I am a fan of all the designs. I carried the CQC7 the longest. I'm on the hunt for my next Emerson. I usually give it to them after they get their Eagle Scout. My 13 year old has his Life Scout, so whatever I get will go to him after he finishes his project. His favorite is the CQC8, he carries the Kershaw Emerson CQC7.

Maybe the HD7 or Comrade for me.

Choose the Emerson knife that appeals to you the most and get it. If the knife is not your bag, don't sell it. Put it away.
No matter which other knife brand you purchase next, that Emerson will be back in your pocket, sooner or later.

I really like my Millie. I really do! I carried her to work (and used her quite a bit) but an Emerson ended up in my pocket by the fourth day. Why????

Yup!
The 7 is tough, good looking and it just says, use me. It's the perfect EDC.

I am bringing back an older thread. Everything stated is so true! I own way too many knives. Fancy ones, flashy ones, way too expensive ones and they all got pocket time as my new favorite but quickly the newness wore off and I grew tired of them for one reason or another. The Emerson is different. I LOVE how they are heavy duty and it feels like a tool in your hand not a delicate knife that you are afraid to hurt.

There is a whole bonding period of breaking it in and getting it just how you like it. I think for me it is that "bonding" period that makes me trust it and really love it. No other knife has that experience, at least in my opinion.

Currently I am loving my Sheepdog Spearpoint. Every time I get it out I enjoy it more and more. it is just fun to play with. I have read lots of posts questioning the flipper but all I can say is don't knock it until you try it. Plus the ball bearings make all 3 deployment options so quick and smooth that the action is faster than an auto knife. I have seen lots of questions about this knife. Watch Mr. Emerson explain it on youtube and you will want to get on board with the Sheepdog.

Thanks, Sheepdog.
That bonding-thing is some serious stuff.
Tell us if you ever have an Emerson knife dream. I have.

LOL, Initially I had a not safe for work comment but decided against it. Knives get into your blood at a level that is hard to explain. It is a sickness.

It is a sickness. Careful... that sickness got me in big trouble, more that once.
About my Emerson Dream, if I may. I was going crazy flipping folders and I really wanted a solution. In a dream, a Higher Power told me to chose the Emerson, this was my knife.
I kid you not.

Allen- I hear great things about the 620. I need to try one.
Time will tell but you are in a win-win.

Rolf, have you tried the 620 yet? I have the cf m390 version and love it to death.

I always carry a waved Emerson in my LFP (these days mostly my CQC-8 or my ETAK) no matter what my RFP EDC is for the day. The 620 is the only non EKI Emerson that can kick an Emerson out of my LFP. You know, just on the occasional day when I'm feeling like something different. Still has the wave though, and that awsesome blade design.
