my favorite place in the world

That's grand Ashes!!!
I'm happy for you!

For me, anyplace where I have a chance to lose this mental bs and be happy and have a puppy for a friend

Mine's easy, and a place I already know I'll be. Deep SE Ohio, on the hill, in the same cemetery that has welcomed the mortal bodies of every last one of my ancestors since the 1840s. It overlooks the River on the East, the Masonic Lodge where 8 generations of my family were raised on the West, and the old family home slightly to the North.

When I am there, I am home. I may live in the North, but only when I am there am I truly home.

My wife is from Polson Montana. It sits at the southernmost tip of Flathead Lake in the NW corner of the state. The area is beyond words. I spent 3 days in the backcountry of Glacier National Park (45 min. drive to the north)last year and almost didn't come out. :D
Something there was calling me..........I will go back one day.

Now that's a good idea!

'cos like Ashes, I live where I love, and love where I live.

...traveled world a little bit when I was younger, and worked in Northern Canada and the arctic.. but best place would be the farm my parents bought when I was eight, tucked up against Riding Mountain National Park here in Manitoba. I had so much fun there as a kid that actual physical aspects, and logic too, seem irrelevant.
Elk, deer, bear, coyotes, cougar, grouse, ducks and a lot more seen there or nearby. Love the way it rises out of the surrounding prairies. But it is the nostalgia thing going here. have already planned the ashes ritual.
Mountain might be a bit of a misnomer, but you can see a long ways around here.
great topic Ren

..forgot the saskatoons, choke cherries and wild plums. And the neighbors.
