My Fire Kit!

Considering the size of your kit, you might want to throw in some lifeboat matches, a couple of Bic lighters, and a Zippo with some boy scout juice for it. You could probably fit some lunch in there, too. :) Sorry, just kidding!
 
I got some gag birthday candles the only problem with it is that it need to burn a while, almost half of the candle, before it will not go out. If it is not burn for a while, the candle will go out like normal birthday candles. They say the secret of the candles is in the fuse.
 
I *think* those candles have a thin magnesium wire in the wick. Try burning them from the bottom up (invert them). It sounds like a manufacturing defect if there is no wire in the upper half of the wick.
