My First Blade Project

I'd like to do the same thing to my BK 10. I like my Becker, but I hate the black coating.

Looks good. I'm trying to take the coating off my mini bushman. Stuff is tuff. Soaked it with Citristrip for about 6 hours so far and it just softened a tiny bit. Mananged to take a small bit off with a brush. At this rate it will take a week of soaking to come off. Think I have to move to sandpaper.

I just finished taking the crinkle off my Becker Campanion. I used a spray finish remover I bought at home depot... spray on, let sit for 15 minutes or so, scrap off.

Caution! Do NOT get this stuff on you, breath it, eat it, or allow it near anything of any value at all!

It WILL remove the crinkle coat.....

Started stripping the BK7 today. The only paint type remover I had in the house was "goof off" so it took a while longer to get the paint off. At first I taped off the handle, but the glue disintegrated when the remover hit it, so I took it off.

made a "sheath" out of paper towel for it to soak in, then scraped the paint off.

Still wondering what you used to get that nice shiny finish. Elbow grease?

Got the blade sanded down to acceptable levels today. I used those 3M foam sanding pads with different grits on each side. I used a medium/fine and a fine/very fine.

Our cat Eliza Jane (or Lazy Jane as we call her) is always available for knife photos.

Now if only we can get some of those Spec-ops sheathes for them from Australia. ;)

Very cool. Becker projects are cool and fun. I miss that company.

Great job.

Make some custom scales for that bad boy now.
