My first Fiddleback lost by USPS.

Dale is a good dude for sure. I've never had a problem with an order from him but with his level of personal attention I'd have no worries if things went sideways.

You won't be disappointed in Fiddleback and TKC.

Geotracking is provided by the letter carrier's electronic unit, that pinpoints time and place of each delivery. They should be able to backtrack the mistaken delivery.

He tracked it, and it shows up "delivered" at the post office's address, which he said is a big no-no. He said the carrier thinks she might've delivered it to 45 instead of 35, but when they knocked on my neighbors door, no one answered. I'm giving it until Thursday before I officially give up on it.

You might try stopping at the local PO and ask if you're parcel is being held for re delivery.

Thanks for the suggestion. It seems that the box was actually delivered somewhere, though.

If it went where the carrier "thinks" it went, then it'll work out. I know the guy, he's an older gentleman, and not the steal-your-mail type.

Well, we called off the search.

It is officially a lost cause.

However- Dale did hook me up with a Monarch I liked, and will be shipping it out to me soon. I can't say enough good things about theknifeconnection.com and the service they provided me. They are, without a doubt, class acts.

If I like the Monarch as much as I'm expecting to, I'll probably try to shark a Kephart when another one that I like comes along. For now, though, I'll be Kephartless and take solace in the bosom of my Monarch.

Sorry to hear of this mishap. I really thought that they would have sorted this one out. The Kephart is a knife that I find I have some duplication in. Let me know when you might be ready to move on one, and I will see if I have something that tickles your fancy.

I've lost two knives over USPS, one on the way out, one on the way in - just the cost of business at times. Really nice to hear TKC standing up for you.

Thanks for your offer, I may be in contact with you in the coming weeks.

Good reason to purchase the insurance I guess. It really raises the price of shipping stuff around, but in the long run it might be worth it. I have never lost a USPS shipment either inbound or outbound, but I have not shipped that much outbound. I've probably shipped a dozen knives and razors outbound. When the price went north of $300 I bought the insurance. But I have yet to have a problem in either direction, and I have even shipped to Canada on multiple occasions. It might be PO dependent either where you are, or where the origin/destination is as well.

Fun story from my local gunsmith!

His regular mail carrier was on vacation, so they had a fill-in for the week. He walks up to his shop's front door, and there's a priority mail "must be signed for" box sitting on the step, about a sidewalk's width from a busy street. He opens the box, and lo and behold- it's a handgun!

Every profession has people who are good, and people who... Well... Aren't. Except politics.

I am glad you are a happy customer and have a Fiddleback coming to you. I would not give up hope on the original package though. The place it was delivered could be out of town or they have already sent it back as a wrong address. If they did it can take a good bit of time for the package to circle back to you or back to TKC. We have had very few problems with USPS but we did have one knife circulate around for about 2 months. It eventually made its way to the customer after showing it was delivered 6 weeks before. The customer had received their replacement and even ordered 2 other knives and received them while this one floated in USPS space!
