My first nessmuk

Beautiul Work on both! I also can't wait to see the sheath you make for those two!

Here are the pants. Not quite finished yet. Still needs a coat of leather balm.

I try to buy leather that has lots of scars and range marks but even thickness throughout. I like to use the scarred areas on my personal sheathes. I did a couple texturized panels and put a little antique finish on them.

Thanks...let me know when you make another one.

As a matter of fact, I profiled the blank this afternoon! I gonna drill holes this week, and bevel the knife sometime in May...Would you prefer ironwood or cocobolo? :D

Oh, wanted to say also that you make kickass sheath! What product do you use to finish the leather? So far, I left mine "natural", but I'd like to add some protection to the leather and make it a little more "waterproof"...

Hmmmm. That is a tough choice. Really nicely figured cocobolo is a great wood. But ironwood is good as well. I'll have to think about it.

Usually I use leather balm with atom wax for the shine. I like it better than stuff like super shene. Sometimes I put some resolene on them at the end. I'm not the authority on leather finishes, I just know what has worked for me. There is a lot of stuff out there I haven't tried.

holy crap Bruce, that came out amazing!

Nice job on the handle and I love the more subtle nessie design.

A couple more pictures.

There is going to be a limited collaboration run of these in the future. I'm not saying who will be doing the blades but I'll be doing handles and sheathes.

Limited collaboration??? Meaning what? If it means you are making/selling them and bocote is involved you know I am IN!

Bruce,
I'm in for one of those if you expect to be cranking out a few. Let me know if there's going to be a sign-up, and when. Also, I'd like to ask you about a sheath job, if you have the time, with all your projects you've been working on. I'll send you an email. Thanks.

I like it, put me down for 2!!

You can ask Scott Gossman for credibility if you want, I'm a serious buyer.
