My name is Igor, I am from Israel. After many years of postponing and delaying I've decided to join this forum.
I'm not sure I can positively say about myself that I am a true serious knife collector, but there were several periods in my life when I had a great interest in this topic and even collected a little.
Today my collection of knives and folders is not very impressive, but I still take a liking to it. And I am always open to learn new things and discover new stuff.
One thing that I wanted to mention, is that one of the knife-manufacturers I've always had an interest in was the Israeli DUSTAR. This bug started long ago, and recently flared up again.
Making a long story short, not so long ago, I've arranged me a meeting with the owner and designer of DUSTAR knives. We met and had a long talk. For me it was extremely fascinating and certainly educating. Mr. Meir turned out to be a very inviting, open, sincere and interesting person.
Of course, there is no sense and no serious possibility to start now going through everything we have talked about. But one thing he had mentioned and even complained about during our talk left me with a very bitter taste and even some kind of pain. Nothing personal, no, but a general kind of thing about today's knife industry and knife "specialists" (inverted commas having an importance). And to tell you the truth, this bitter taste gave me the final push to join this forum. Sounds weird, I know.
Well, nevermind. I've already blabbered for too long. Enough, I guess.
So, to sum things up - I am very glad to finally join your community, guys, and look forward to many interesting discussions.
