My first tooling on a bushcrafter style sheath - need opinions.

It looks very nice, I think it would work for a Bushcraft/outdoors style knife. Keep up the practice for my next one your doing for me.

Thanks for your kind words, Talfuchre.

CLK,

What would you change about it? How? Thanks for the words.

TF

TF- I am not the biggest fan of the squared off bottoms of sheaths that seem to be "in" right now so that could be a bit of my taste right there. I just took another look and if you could texture the part around the lanyard hole (to me) it would probably make it flow a lot nicer. Right now it seems like the texture just stops, and the 2 portions do not flow together nicely, or even texture the upper part of the sheath, even without the color change.

Of course this is just IMO.

CLK,

That is where you are WRONG SIR! ;)

I agree - I thought about doing another small section in the portion used for the lanyard hole.

Thanks,

TF

Your work looks good, I really don't like tooling on my leather but some do and that looks fine to me, Good work.

You are an artist in the making. Go to Tandy Leathercraft, get a book on sheathmaking and decorating and some leather specific tools, and maybe some dye, and you'll be turning out professional looking leathergoods that are practically unavailable on the market today.
