Looking fantastic Charlie!! What is that smaller blade you're making? Is that a side-kick for my Bowie? :)

Hey Buddy, its a knife for a customer in England,I will fix you up with something tho.If any you guys get a chance go to the review site on here and check out the review Brian did on one of my choppers

dang, that's gonna be quite the looker Charlie!
How are you gonna outfit the big knife?

Thank you guys very much for the nice comments, I do plan on going for my JS stamp in the future. I got about 3 years left before I can submit the knives and do my performance test. Im gonna put a nice burl handle on it and contour it to fit the hand real nice. I know this aint a real exciting WIP, not many tools here in the shop, most of the work is done on the anvil and with files, everything is kinda homemade, nothin really cost over 100.00 except for my grinder. This is as close as you can get to homemade knives,LOL I followed some wonderful advice from a good friend when I started about a year ago, His advice was master the basics, and no expensive tool will ever make up for experience. I love this hobby deeply and enjoy every second I get a chance to do it. Im gonna post some pictures of my guard making tomorrow, all I use is 2 files, stay tuned,Charlie

Heres the hamon after tempering and hand sanding to 400, shes really danced around on this one, Im filing the guard right now, gonna get some more pictures this afternoon

That looks excellent! I can't wait to get home and see some pics of my Edmondson creation!

Got word f/ Charlie this one is done and should be in the mail to me very soon. I know he has been very busy and had a lot of other obligations and some family things come up.

When I get it I'll do my best to take some pics and show the finished product.

Got this one on Friday and just had a brief chance to take a few photos. I haven't had much of a chance to give this one a review or work-out but hopefully that will follow.

For a knife this size this one is surprisingly 'light' feeling and has a good balance. The handle is a bit large, but it feels good in the hand and I'll know more about how well it works for me after I get a chance to put this one to some use. The only thing I would change on this one is that the guard is pretty sharp where the finger rests right before the choil area. I can fix that and actually ran my diamond hone around it a bit to make sure it was dull and wouldn't scrape or cut my finger.

And now for the part we all like... some pics. Hopefully I was able to capture the fantastic hamon on this one.

Here's an in-hand shot. I wear a Large to X-Large glove for size reference

Here is the area around the guard I had mentioned. This is after spending 10 or so minutes rubbing this down w/ a diamond hone... I'll do a bit more refining later...

Can't wait to see the sheath on this one. Charlie is working that one out now and should have it soon.

I got my chopper from Charlie on Friday as well. I took it out last night here's an excerpt from the mail I just sent him:

"It came Friday and I took it out last night during a real heavy rainstorm.
It went through:

-1 Pine 10x10 slab
-2 6inch diameter maple trees
-1 12inch pine
-6 cherry trees all 2-4 inch
-Accidentally went through a rusty steel cable 1/4 thick, No chipping or rolling just a scratch.
-tons and tons of Salmon berry bushes
-I then proceeded to test out the tip by gouging out that 10x10 till my hand was sore
-I then shaved with it after.

Also a few Ceder trees that needed to get cut down. 1-3 inch about 12 or so."

Pretty excellent knife. I guess he got the HT right :) Now I want a light light light fighter from him.
