my jtstrider problem

I wasn't going to do this but after today with what I've read & with what
I've been told by "jt" I feel I'm left with no choice. I am a new guy on the
block also. I've made a lot of trades since the middle of May & in each case
I shipped my item immediately even with Mr. Towns aka jtstrider. The trade
started on June 8 & got finished on June 15th, at which time he told me he
could ship the next day. I sent my end out on the 16th & he got it the 18th.
I saw that he tried to trade a UTX70, which is what he got from me, on
Sat. the 18th for a TOPS knife. Seeing this made me e-mail him asking when
he sent my knives. Sunday the 19th at 11:33 PM he told me he had been
busy & was trying to round up all the knives. He said some friends had been
over & were playing with the knives & now he couldn't find them all. But he
said for me not to worry & that he would send my knife back if nothing else.
I told him on the 20th I was somewhat concerned because it looked like
he was trying to trade my knife off. He told me that was a different UTX.
By the way I have the serial # of mine. I guess he found the knives because
Mon. June 20th 8:36 AM he told me he was going to PO to see about
overnighting to me. On the 21st I asked if they got sent & he said yes
but it would be two days. On the 24th I asked if he had a conf. number
for the 21st shipping date. On the 25th I asked again for conf. #.
On the 25th he told me he shipped them to the wrong address, but the
person was honest & was shipping them back to him. Today I asked
what the status was & was told they were shipped. When I asked for
a conf. # I got a smartassed answer which leads me to believe they have
not been shipped. If they have I guess I'll get them, if they haven't I'm
sure after this they never will be.
Also, if I don't get them & he isn't banned I will drop out of the Forums.
 
Thanks for sharing and I would most assurdadly believe he will be banned if you do not recieve your knives.

Unfortunately he probably doesn't care. He'll simply sleaze off and try his con jobs somewhere else! :(
 
These are the type of people that make me leary of doing personal trades and deals.. thank you guys for taking care of business though.. I have been scammed a few time on ebay.. that is why I like to check out forums like this and CPF cause the mods usually take care of people that only want to run scams.. sorry to RRG for having to be the sacrifical lamb so to speak .. (if ya don't get the knives as promised) These type of people suck and need to be brought out into the open.

Relax and do what I would do. Get all of your documentation in order like the knives' serial numbers, all of the shipping records, emails etc.

If you don't get your knives or a full refund then file a complaint with the postal service and see about getting him charged with mail fraud. Call his local police department. If all else fails, there's always small claims court.

He is legally responsible for getting you your merchandise or a full refund. It doesn't matter if the postal service screws up or anything else. The law is on your side.

Edited to add: Well I see that a UTX70 is involved. That could complicate things somewhat but there are still things you can do.
 
RRG i'm sorry for your misfortune, word of caution here, when trading with people run a search on their forum name and if you don't come up with good results or they have a low number of posts....just dont do it. I have done 2 trades with RRG and he is a first class gentleman and I would hate to lose him as a member here at bladeforums. Best wishes RRG.
 
Has anybody completed a square deal with this guy? It looks like he might have made a deal with Matt D. for a Strider back in May. I'd be interested to know if it went through.

I'll second that. RRG is a straight shooter and it would be a shame for this to burn him.
 
Hmm, I am curious to know what state jtstrider lives in. We had a guy under the name "Boker" here a while back that played the run around game. He was from Ok. He types a lot like him. Just wonderin.

Never send knives to someone you don't know, or does not have a reputation worth providing references over. I have done sales, swaps and purchases with the crew on BladeForums, and never once have I been burned, or burned anyone else.

What knives besides the UTX did you send him. I MIGHT be able to get you replacements at cost.

Use this as a learning experience, and let us see what we can do to help you out.

Thanks for the offer Kohai999 but if I end up having a monetary loss
out of this it will be no great hardship on my part. My whole intent in
posting this was to make damn sure nobody gets burned that can't
afford it or who can afford it for that matter.
If he would have kept his snide remark to himself in his last e-mail
to me I might not have posted this at all.

He wont because we peeled the bark of this bastard. He is a crook, a scumbag, and a pussy...I hope he never meets my tactical mall ninja ass in a dark alley..i might de animate him.
