I promise the wife cut back this year 2017. I bought 22 knifes in 2016 but 2 were gifts for my daughter graduating High school.

I enjoy collecting knives and don’t plan on stopping. This year I’ve managed to get over 90% of my knives displayed. It helps slow down the impulse buying and keeps me on track with the patterns I really enjoy. Through knife collecting I became friends with Herman Williams. I guess my New Year’s resolution would be to collect more of his knives and to keep building displays for them….and to never ever buy tacticals.

I'm among those who are going to try to enjoy what I already have and not buy any knives in 2017.

The display cases that I store my knives in when not in use have one empty slot left. If I don't buy something today that's all she wrote.

Should I fill the slot? :D

Just a reminder to everyone who wants to slow down buying knives in 2017.

If you buy today .... it's still 2016 !

Well, sounds familiar. I had a similar decision this year, to reduce the amount of knives that is. For a while everything went well, some I gave away, some I sold (being very sorry right after that), eventually I ended up with the same amount more or less, just the new ones are custom... leaving a hole in my wallet :D

Please let know how you succeed. lol

I went to my first knife show this year and enjoyed it. I'd like to go to at least one show this upcoming year. I wish I had more time to make it to some of the bigger shows, but with work and family it's unlikely to happen. My 2017 knife resolution is to organize my knives for display. Happy New Year to everyone on the porch!

Something my Great Grandfather, (1884 - 1973) a proud and practical man, told me when I was a teenager: "A higher price does not guarantee longer lasting or higher quality." (and in the case of a doctor, a higher price does not guarantee more knowledge or better care.)

Personally, I don't see any problems with quality on the few Case and Buck knives I own. Nor on the Rough Rider, Colt, and Marbles I have, either, for that matter.

I completely agree with that hunter, but I mean that to include my favorite brands (Buck and Case)as well. Throw some stag into the mix and so on

If there is one, I'll buy a 2017 Bladeforums knife and consider any Northwoods knives that are offered.

For 2017 I plan on Sticking To The Plan .
The Plan
1 . More 72's , 73's , 74's , and 77's
2. More Cattaraugus
3. More Vintage Knives
4. Another Taylors Eye Witness
