Of course, I like it. :D

lol yes I gess you would I have never seen you on the forum so hi nice to meet you

You too. Are you gonna stamp or etch? If you need it vectorized for having stencils cut, send it my way and I'll run it through my software.

PS - You need to click here and update your usergroup.

I think you should have your name on your knives and keep the logo for the web site. Who are you?

I agree with Bruce...

You really need to have YOUR name, and NOT Initials on your knives. I can't count the number of times that people have come to my shop with a knife that was marked with initials or some obscure logo, asking if I could help them find the maker because they wanted to buy another knife like it...trouble is, if they cannot find you, then they cannot buy from you. In many of those cases when we tried to find who the maker was, and failed, they would order a knife from me..... (maybe I should endorse just using initials! :))

A potential customer needs to be able to see the name/logo on a knife, and be able to easily find the maker. With the makers actual name, it's much less confusing, and much simpler for a potential customer to find you and your knives. Using initials, or a logo without a name, only means that a potential customer has one more layer of information they must hunt through to find you...and most won't take the time to do it.

How about the SCK logo with "stone creek knives" all spelled out above the other letter? Im not a huge fan of the wildlife thing anymore. Its getting way over used lately. If its your thing and you prefer it by all means. It wont stop me from buying your product if its what I want, but id take a non deer logo over the deer given the choice.

Does anyone know of some place up here in Canada to get stencils made? Not to hijack the thread
I think the name only with town and state looks real good

I am not sure about the price, I think it's something like 35-40$ for a 3"X7" with as many of your logos as will fit on there. As for how long well you just can't get any faster. If I remember right it took 3-4 days from ordering to my mailbox. That's from Florida to Quebec.

I totally agree with Bruce and Ed, your name should be on the knife and for the reasons already stated.

But you guys only have to worry about ice storms and power outages, we have to bring the sled dogs in at night because it too cold:D

Yes I was still living in eastern Ontario for the big Icestorm that knocked out most of Quebec and eastern Ontario. I had no power for 3 days and intermintant power for a week after that.
I will have to get a hold of him, I would really like to mark my knives with my name, just have to build or buy an etcher

I have had Ernie make my stencils lately too. He charged $35 and I had them in 4 days. The stencil material is the quality stuff too not that blue plastic stuff that gets brittle. He says you can use his a couple hundred times if cleaned with soap and water before storage.

Again, I suggest just your name. Ernie will do the font and email you back for your confirmation. Great guy. Even if he raises his prices its a bargain. I've been paying $75 to Marking Methods for stencils and have had to argue with them a couple times because I couldnt read my name.

Logo looks good, Brian!

This advice comes at the perfect time I was just ordering some stamps from everstamp.com and was contemplating this very same dilema. I love my logo characters and think folks are starting to recognize them.... but the ones who have no idea who I am will have absolutely no way of finding out. Mine aren't even real letters for cripe sake!

Thanks for tipping the scales on this descision... I just ordered a "MARCHAND" from Evers to go along with my logo. I attached a pic of my new logo stamp... try and look THAT up on the internet!
