My logo Look I like it Now

Probably for the common names, Patrice. When I type or "lemee knives" into google, I get your website.... no problem. The way I see it, if I have my logo and my last name, anyone who searches "marchand knives" will see my logo and know they're at the right place.

I am curious Bruce why the middle initial? Except maybe if you have a very common name.

I am sure I would remember Bruce Bump even without the D. ;)

Its more formal to include the middle initial. Try to get a bank loan with out a full name.
Speaking of banks, I went to my local bank and they ask me if I was Bruce D Bump or Bruce G Bump. Both of us are in their systems. Bruce G Bump is quite a historian from what I have found on-line.

I understand that the stencil should ideally make it easy for someone to identify your work, however, what if you have a longer name that may not fit on a smaller blade? If I were to put "Johnathan Mitchell" on my knives, it may look too busy. In this case, should I just use my last name or first initial and last name?

Your company name can still be formal. The mark on your knife only needs to be enough for someone to look you up, IMO. I think a last name and a distinguishing logo are all you'll ever need. Back when a phonebook and a knife magazine were all you had, there was more of a need. The internet has changed all that. If you establish a network for yourself via website, forums, blogs and banners, folks can easily find you. Sites like BF are invaluable to makers. Make sure you have your full name in your signature line.... most of the popular search engines can pick it up.

See Bruce that must be a US thing cause here in Canada they could care less about your middle initial. And even in day to day life I never see it used.
