My love affair with buck 110's and recent QC issues

C&C there is gray area with them. One condition of being a dealer is to provide a brick and mortar type of business. Yet they dont.
Where is C&C based out of? I have purchased a couple LE 110s that were suppose to be exclusive to them, at brick and mortar stores. For the same price that C&C had them listed. Kinda curious if they operate under a different name on the web vs a brick and mortar, act as a possible supplier, etc...

Missouri. not sure exact city but packages I get from them always come out of Springfield, Missouri.

That explains it. There is a knife shop in Lebnon and Branson Missouri that is selling the C&C exclusives. It's just not named the same.

think they do have a different name and sell case online under that name,?

yeah after Springfield packaged goes to lebnon

Jeff,

Thank you for your response and very well written and thought out response. I am new to this blog / forum thing and I will learn to articulate better in future posts. I still prefer talking than texting or typing but I know that is going out of style. I know Buck values it’s customers and you are well documented in handling customer complaints and making things right. I wish I could rewrite my post but the ink is dry so I will admit when I am out of line and wrong and you make all valid points. I will continue to buy and support Buck knives. I have stickers and gear that I wear regularly and get almost made fun of or really just teased for all the Buck gear hats and T-shirts and other items I wear out in public and at work. I think of myself as a Buck billboard and enjoy spreading good things about Buck. Many co-workers have received Buck knives for Xmas and birthdays. Thank you again and please forgive my misunderstanding and ignorance to the forum.
Glad you are here with us. Like I said, we can't get better unless we know. You have valid complaints as you are the customer and we need to endeavor to meet everyone's expectations.

Not sure of how the rules work on me mentioning the brick and mortar name but it sounds like C&C is, at least, partnered with the store I visit. And I have nothing but positive things to say about the store.

I don't need a brick and mortar store. I'll keep buying online as usual. I have had no problems with C&C. Good knives, prices and delivery. Processed one return of mine with no problem.

I'm Canadian and there are knife companies in my province that are very popular with a lot of people, for me those knives don't fit my needs at all,and I own a lot of knives ,And none of them are that brand made right here in Nova Scotia.

I have more Buck knives than all other brands combined, and for good reason.

I've also had some Buck knives not meeting my expectations, and all the issues were always taken care of by Buck, they always have the customers interests in mind and really try their best to make the customer happy.

Mr.Hubbard once sent me a hand selected alaskan guide 110 at no charge to me to replace the ones I had bought with issues ,That blew me away and I've never forgotten their excellent business practices when it's time to buy knives ,I buy Buck knives.

As a new Buck afficiando, (5 new ones this week) I am curious regarding the pin vs. screw issue. Screws would allow for handle changes, and facilitate cleaning. I do love my 110's, 112's, and Vantage Pro, and plan on buying more (probably order another one later today), so just wondering what the rationale is behind this decision.

I have visited the store you reference on many occasions, they sell Buck, Victorinox, Chicago Cutlery & Case knives as well as Pot & Pans, Walnut Bowls and many things for the ladies. They are Shepherd Hills in Lebanon MO ( not far from Springfield) also in Branson and while they sell Buck, it's not their main line, Case is. AFAIK they have nothing to do with C&C.

Also why are QC problems okay with the Bucks sold at Walmart. They are cheaper because Walmart buys by the truck load. Why should the QC person be less careful because of who they are sent to? I personally have never had an issue with a Walmart Buck but obviously many have. Just because we pay $34 at Walmart vs $45 or 50 at C&C doesn't mean we should expect or accept lower quality!

yeah figured that out from the link onion posted.

dont believe walmart get special anything other than volume buying. same 110 they'd sell at walmart sells at c&c or anywhere else. off the same line and qc etc. Jeff's mentioned this here before. no one wants mistakes. its just as bad for Buck as it is for us.

Ordered the 110 slim select in a web exclusive color tan (tan & blue available) There was a couple of colors on sale for $29.99. After thinking it over a couple of days they sent me the 10% off teaser, so I bit. Should get it next Monday. I also have the Buck 110 LT Race & Bucklite 444 with the nylon scales. This should by interesting.
