My Milestone

Nice work mate. Its a great feeling when you hit a decent PB in the gym. I would love a 300lb raw bench, mine is currently around 260lbs, with my shirted bench being around 300lbs. I ws pretty happy last Friday though, got a new 5 rep PB on squat 160 kg (352lbs) for 5 reps, looking for a 200kg squat in december.

nothing wrong with a 260 bench. i read this thred today, and decided to go tot he gym and work my chest. man its hard after a 10 hour work day. was struggling with repping 225, so i decided to jsut work the negative. man its stuff like this that keeps me motivated to work out. i think everyone needs to go tot the gym if they can. the better condition your muscles are in, the healthier you are, the better your life quality will be. and for all you avid hikers, i know there are alot, the gym is a great place to train. man I LOVE THE GYM!!!

Alright. I'm officially marking my pathetic 125 bench as my starting point and I'm now actively working to increase it.

I've been blogging my weight loss journey and I'm all about benchmarks. I figure bench press is a good one. You can't really cheat a bench press like you can cheat a curl or something. I see guys that look like they're doing pelvic thrusts when they curl and aparently don't realize that with all the extra inertia their hips are providing, they aren't even close to really curling the weight they're holding.

Here's my blog, if anyone is interested... if nothing else I'll score some more hits :)

Congrats on the 300 mark! I may be able to do that once (with a spotter, and not quite going all the way down haha). I can do 260 pretty adequately, but I haven't really been pushing myself lately. My max was 275 or 280.
