I was looking at Rat's website drooling over their new RAT Pack Kit( I can't wait to pick one up) Anyways every year for Thanksgiving my Wife's family does a little gift exchange with things we make or put together for one another. Her Grandfather is a campgound host so I was picking my brain of what I could make him, after awhile I came up with this little idea, it's using the B.O.A.T.(Bug Out Altoid Tin idea and I thought an Izula would be a great little knife for it! Let me know what you think of it, any and all ideas are welcome,I am going to make myself one now to fill the void until I can get my Real RAT Pack Kit!

The kit has a few Band-aids, water proof matches, lighter,antiseptic wipe,antacid,triple antibiotic ointment, fish hooks with fishing line, cotton balls soaked in Vaseline(for fire starter)

Nice kit, I am going to make one with my rp knife when it comes. I will be using a camo digital camera case.
 
I like the idea of using the Hest, could put a few small items in the handle also, hmmmm guess I need a Hest now! :)
 
Nice kit! That's a good little pouch to store a survival kit inside.
 
Very clever. I use that pouch for my cell phone. I just rigged it like you did to carry the Izula right up against my belt.
 
I've got two different small Maxpedition pouches coming Monday and I'm going to set up some similar kits like that. One with my HEST and another with an Izula.

I can obviously see the need for larger backpacks or shoulder bags for survival kits or BOBs, but having a handheld, self contained kit with the essentials is also nice.
 
Thanks for all of the compliments, I also wraped the handle so there was also some paracord. It's the Large PCC. I just like the idea of having a small kit with me at all times when doing stuff outdoors!
