My Mini RAT Pack

DH1 what pouches are you getting from maxpedition? I was looking at a couple but wasn't sure what I really wanted, I always look at the site with something in mind to buy then come away with 30 different ideas all with different pouches!

I got the Three-By-Five and the Four-By-Six pouches. I know what you mean about being hard to choose since there are so damn many options, but those seemed the best pouches for me.

Funny I was looking at those same pouches, you'll have to snap a few pictures when you get everything setup to give me some ideas

Definately:thumbup:

I'm going to focus them more on urban survival/observation and less on outdoors/woodland survival items.

The portability was the thinking behind this one, not a huge kit,but light enough that he might carry it. I hope it's enough to hold him over if he gets a mean paper cut! LOL

If you guys are looking for a good pouch to carry a survival kit, try the E/E pouch from Tactical Tailor. It's about 6 3/4 long and 3 7/8 wide with a bunch of different pockets and straps to hold all types of kit inside. The back side has PAL attachment straps to attach it to any other pack. I carry mine inside my cargo pocket in my shorts or pants.

333rm- Thanks for the tip, It looks like a great pouch, do you have any pictures of how your is set up?

that looks really great. Countycom still doesn't deliver outside the US, so I'll have to find something else ...
(by the way, in a crash I lost my link to the shop that sells at least some countycom stuff abroad, and as I can't search, I haven't found back the thread where we posted gear links. It was a sticky once ...could somebody help me to find it, please)

I just got the 4x6 pouch the other day and I'm building that around my RC-4.

Items being put into the 4x6:

1) Keychain using aviation cable with these items:

Paracord lanyard of 10.5' of 550,
mini led flashlight,
P38 can opener,
Micro pry bar,
Swedish fire steel,
Fire steel super scraper,
Magnesium rod,
Tweezers

2) In addition, a SAK Farmer and/or maybe a Leatherman will be included.

3) A decent micro led flashlight, possibly an E01 or ARC AAA.

4) Pen/All weather notepad

There's enough room inside the 4x6 to stuff the 2 interior side pockets with an Altoid tin of other items (still working on that).

Looking to order a 3x5 for the RC-3 and get a similar kit together.

I'm also considering some of those PCCs. I really just want a kit that I can slip in a jean/coat pocket.

nice idea - thought about doing something similar with a Tactical Tailor E&E pouch

rankor-you should put up a few pictures when you get a chance I would love to see them!

Corso-I have been looking at the E&E pouch since it was mentioned here, I am really liking all of the pockets in it. Really I like any pouch that has alot of pockets, gives me a reason to get more stuff to fill it up!
