My Mom got me this for my birth day

Great gift! Show your thanks by getting to work whittling (and post it here of course)!

Finally. A mom that understands pocket knives are not evil creations sent to descend our youth on a path to the dark side. Congrats and give your mom a hug!

Ya know Purple......I was thinking the same thing brother!
Not many moms I know would even dream of buying their son a blade. This mom gets incredible amounts of cool mom points for this gesture!!

I vote for Tommy's first whittling project to be a gift for his mom.

Here's Mom. Happy mothers day! I've whittled you... a spear!

Maybe not his first project. Practice may be needed. Certainly a whittled gift is in order in the near future though.

Unless of course the zombies are coming. Then go with the spear.

Come on Bryce!!! The first one will probably be a disaster........and she will treasure it!!

I don't know how old you are, but make sure you show your appreciation and use your noggin' and don't get in trouble with your new knives!

Unfortunately, in the world we now live in you can get in trouble and not even be doing anything 'wrong'! Just forgetting one in your backpack after a weekend camping or at a friend's, and getting caught with it at school will get you expelled these days. Not even suspended but kicked out for good! Which is absolutely ridiculous but the bad apples have ruined things for the rest of us that are responsible and have a good head on their shoulders. Not just kids but adults too.

You may be older than I'm thinking, and this doesn't really apply but even though we don't always get along, family is the most important thing we have in this world and I promise you that your mom loves you to death and would do anything for you! That may sound silly now but one day it will make sense, so show her you are responsible and work hard to better yourself and help her with anything that needs to be done around the house. It doesn't magically get done and takes hard work and you can really make things easier by pitching in. And spend as much time with her as possible because one day you will wish you had this time back!

Again, I don't know you or how old you are so maybe you've learned some of this. And it may sound silly but I know there are a lot of us that wish someone had told us things like this at a young age, and that we actually paid attention.

For the OP and anyone else that's able, give your mom a great big hug, a kiss on the cheek, and tell her you love her, and have a great Holiday Season!!!

Can't wait to see what you carve.
There's a couple of whittling threads in the traditional forum, feel free to add to them.

Oh and tell your mom she has a bunch if new fans.

What an excellent thread!!
Thank you for sharing this with us Tommy!!
Pretty sure you put smiles on a lot of faces!!
Once again......Happy Birthday!!
Joe
