Hello, my name is Tim and I am a knife junkie. I mainly purchase hunter folders, fixed hunters, and skinners. Anyhow, my wife surprised me last week with a 110 from cabelas, the stag model with the S30V blade. Talk about sweet! I had noticed that the rest of the 110's were pretty much flat from one end to the other, but the stag model has more of a convex shape to it, it fills the hand a little more. You can see the thickness in the pic. The side photos came out pretty nice too.

Welcome to the Buck forum newly addicted Buck brother....

Good Looking stag for sure... Brouse through the threads here that have sambar in them. Those fatties seem popular here lately.

Are you going to use that one or let it be a collectable?

You might also jump up to the very top thread here and see that we are trying to get a Buck specific buy/sell/trade exchange going. We have met the required 40 new Gold members and are waiting for the next evolution to happen.

Mr Evil Eye Earl also started a knife giveaway  that seriously boosted the numbers of new Gold members.

So, upgrading to Gold will support the Blade Forum and help us get the Buck exchange. Really is an excellent value. And you could win a knife!!!! If you upgrade to Gold, or I should say WHEN :D, Post a note in that thread that you upgraded and you are in the drawing... Do it before Oct1....

Join in with the other addicts here....:D for you are now seriously "hooked" after getting that AG Sambar S30V :D :D

I have to look into the gold membership. I could always use another knife! Anyhow, to answer your question, I had planned on using the knife to eat my dinner while at work. One of my pet peeves is eating steak or whatever needs cuttin on the dinner plate with a dull knife. I guess I could pack this one away and get another 110 with S30v without the stag, or even a Bass Pro 154CM 110.

I really wish I could get a Special, 805 or 819 with no bells or whistles, just S30v or 154 CPM steel. If I am going to use the knife, I dont really need a presentation box.

another addict is born....

I have commented several times about the 805/819 SS in a user grade as well as one of the 118 D2's in user form. Maybe some day...
I even grabbed up a 2nd 805 thinking I might make a user... Just hard to do to a collectable even if there are 1,000 of them.

Sounds like you are on a roll

Keep the girl. She has good taste.

Let me know if she has available female family members that are knife inclined:D ;) :D. Oh yeah, that cook and clean, hunt and fish and don't like to buy shoes:eek: etc.

Welcome to the forum and the madness that is Buck. Preston

Well, her sister is the complete opposite. Oh well, I picked the better of the two! Cook, clean, fish, hunt, you name it. Matter of factly, her rifle is in the shop right now gettin a trigger job! We can sit in the woods for 12 hours, and not one peep!!! Oh, and she baits her own hook too!!:D

As far as gettin a user grade special or 805 with good steel, I might just have to make my own version, and buy those others and keep em mint.

Yours reminds me of mine in her earlier days... One funny comes to mind when we were at a fishing show once. Stren was demo'ing their line and had a scale set up to where you could tie your knot and put it on the scale to test its breaking point.

It's well known that breakoffs mostly happen at the knot. They were using 17lb line and the whole time we watched no one got past about 15lb before their knot broke.

She finally grinned at me and I told her to go for it. Hers broke well over 17lb and broke the line, not the knot.... The stren guys made a fuss over her and we spent about an hour teaching guys how to tie that knot. She loved it!

And she already got her trigger job.. :D

Hurry and make your own and let us know about it!

Gixxer,
Welcome to the forum. I bought one of those Cabelas stag 110's a while back and I really love the fat stag. I have several staf 110's from the custom shop and this one by far has the best of the bunch. Here are some pics.

Welcome to the forum!

Ummm her dad has a Century 23' center console that I can use whenever I want, he even puts gas in it for me!! I took it to Key West (without him unfortunately) for 2 weeks last year!! Didnt get to use it much, the wind wouldnt stop blowing. We did get out for about 3 days of mahi slaying at the weedlines. That sure tasted good on the grill.

Anyhow, anybody have a homemade template of an 802, 805, 819 in Autocad, or whatever? I dont exactly have one handy to make my own drawings. I was thinking maybe one with linen micarta scales, and then if the beater comes out nice, then maybe giraffe bone or water buffalo horn (although I am partial to the latter) on the next one.

OK, the name of the game is let's make a deal. PM me. Wait, you cant PM in this forum, huh. E mail me.

I live in North Brandon. There is a custom knife maker in the New Port Richey area, his Name is Lowell Bray I think. Ever hear of him? He has been mentioned in Blade mag as a knifemaker being present @ knife shows.
