my new 110

...Looks almost due west of Houston...

True.... I can either go I-10 through SanAntonio or up 290 through Austin.

Going via San Antonio, I can stop at Bass Pro in Katy. Going 290 through Austin is a minor detour to Cabellas :D :D

 ...I'd have to change out my 4.56 gears for 2.73's to make the drive there from here...LMBO...

Right about that:eek:   Probably cheaper to fly into SA or San Angelo and rent a car

This is something to think about.... Or into here and ride out with me/us...:) more fun yet.

We are literally on North West side of IAH. Well,,,coupla miles anyway

 ...Hmmm...When gixxer started this thread he mentioned the "convex" properties of the stag on the AG 110 stag series. I do like that "bulge" that appears from time to time with stag. It does feel real good in the hand. Why couldn't we do that with walnut or beechie wood or virtually any scale material???...hmmmm... Dave...Ya got any of that chestnut burl you was talkin' about left???...

Yes,,,apologies to Tim for drifting his thread so bad....

We need to start that "Useless" thread back up

...Dave has the "Hay you, yes you" thread up...It has a lotta hits already...LOL...:D

...Nope It's a Mustang...4.6 L gasoline...I have some 3.73's layin' around here somewhere...Nice top end on those...

No biggie. Sometimes in the Profile Brotherhood forum, I look around to jack people's threads on purpose. Sometimes we have little contests to see who can jack a thread the fastest and make it stick!! One thing I noticed about mine is that the scales are not pinned(maybe hidden pins), and the wood scaled ones are for the most part. Wait, thats a custom shop option also, pins or no pins. Guess it really doesnt matter. Well, I know it does for durability reasons, but if you spend teh money for sweet ass scales, you probably are not gonna beat on the thing to where pins might be a necessity. But I am sure the shop has had requests for fattie bulges though, and some of you that are good at bashing a knife could throw a new set of scales on real fast!!

Boy, did you stay up all night? LOL....

I ordered my 110 customs without pins. Like you said, just a preference.

Good point about trashing one and durability with no pins. Don't think anyone has talked about that much. There has been talk about the adhesive Buck uses.

Chickentrax has put up some pics showing how the adhesive is strong enough that it separated some of the wood instead of poping off clean at the frame.
I don't worry about beating on bad enough to cause handle separation, but would like to learn how to change scales one of these days. Some of the guys here have done that, I am hobby challenged... as in too many ...:o

Just as a side note, the pins on the very early 110's were not functional at all. So, I feel confident that the adhesive they use is just fine. ;)
