Off Topic My New Covid Testing Device

Gary, I do have to say that your Covid Testing Device does actually work. I just got over Covid and did test out my sense of smell by sniffing some juniper handled knives and I couldn't smell them at all! Luckily, that has all come back and I can smell them again.

If you love the smell of Juniper G2 Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley , you'd love my wood shed - all juniper wood and the smell in and around it is very nice.

I tried your smell test with my Laguiole by Honoré Durand with Pistacio covers and couldn't detect any aroma.

If ya ever need a "Juniper Boost" let me know and I'll send ya a piece of juniper.

Here's the little coffee maker!🤣
Cream or sugar anyone?

Greetings porch dwellers ! This just arrived today, my friend RayseM had recommended a place that I might find a Laguiole knife and he was correct, it arrived just today and is quite nice with excellent fit and finish and my favourite wood, Juniper.
That is some really nicely figured juniper. I don't have a knife in juniper yet... ( 'yet' being the operative word ) yours may have just pushed me over the edge... great looking laguiole....

Shed made of Juniper??? You lucky man  I heard of somebody who had a sauna made of Juniper, cost an absolute fortune and didn't last so many years but the aroma factor was intoxicating apparently.

As for your Pistacchio Lag, try chewing it, might be like the tasty nut :D It does look nice and stripey though, the French are very adventurous with woods, saw a knife handled in Broom- and I thought it was just a straggly shrub. Briar is another attractive handle.

Thanks, Will

Even a Mini Lag 8cm has thick slabs and has that delightful peppery oil smell

An inexpensive but very nicely finished knife, at first a Lag might look like its skimpy handle will be poor in the hand. Far from it, he thick slabs and radioing make it a supreme slicer, even these Minis. G.David make inexpensive Lags but as I wrote, very finished- bit rustic but effective. hey also made me an 11cm one in Juniper at little extra cost, I find 12 and 13cm ones just too long.

Here's the aromatic Juniper with a CASE Peanut for size, plenty of blade there. And you won't need a test kit or Sniffer Dog to find this fragrant timber....
