You may have said this elsewhere in the thread but did you buy from an Aussie or overseas retailer? If an Aussie, you should be protected under the Australian Consumer Law if the knife is not fit for purpose (eg a folding knife that doesn't fold).
 
You should take it up with them. I can't remember which part of the Australian Consumer Law deals with this but Google will help. You may even find a catchy song the Chaser guys did on The Checkout :)
 
Why can't you return it the Aussie retailer you bought it from? Have you even tried contacting them?
 
No more effort is going into this knife. I didn't keep the box , I do not want to pay postage to send it back . Nor am I going to swallow the restocking fee said supplier charges . When I get around to it I'll sell it or trade it for gear. Anyone wanna trade me a Becker bk5 for it pm me.
