Thanks for the kind words fellas. On the up side the whole experience brought home a few points for me:
1.) In the end, its not the gear (or the knives), its getting out there and using and enjoying them in augmenting your wilderness experience.
2.) As pissed as I was, biting my tongue and keeping a friendship is so much more than tearing into someone and losing a friend. I can afford to lose gear, not friends.
3.) The best one...I'm in the market for a new knife!
Now all you have to do is wait for a post that says... "Who is R. Laconico and are Osprey packs any good? I found a pack full of sweet gear along the road!"
