My new stretch!

Its hard to say either slippery or grippy. I can put it into perspective however. If you have handled the militarys g10, consider that 80 grit sandpaper, the CF is more of a comparable 120 grit. Still grippy, just a little more refined.
Kirko..I think you nailed it, more refined, but not slippery.
Also the way my hand medium in size, naturally fits with the thumb on the ramp, the hand aint going no where, so it's all good. :D

How do you think the CF/ZDP-189 Stretch compares with any of the soon-to-be released Spydercos, for daily carry? I might be Stretch-bound.
Ask the Deacon :p he's a true die hard Stretch fan, one in every pocket.
If I had to give up all my knives except one, then the CF/ZDP-189 Stretch
would be the keeper. I find it a happy medium between the Millie and Para Millie,
it covers both bases.
Wouldn't really be fair, or meaningful, to compare knives I've used to knives I've never even had my hands on. Can say that I'd take it any day over the Manix 2 which I have had the honor of test driving and which, while a damn fine knife, is just too bulky for me. Of the ones that are new versions of existing designs, the only ones I'm aware of that I believe will give it a solid run for its money are its FRN/ZDP-189 and FRN/VG-10 baby brothers. A bit less "classy" looking, but their lighter weight, more refined jimping on the spine, thicker, more hand filling, handles, and lower price tags make the choice one of personal tastes and priorities.

A question on the Stretch CF handles. Are they grippy or are they a little slippy?

Thanks/

I'd agree. FWIW, I find the FRN Stretch handle feels more grippy than the CF in a dry hand, but less so if my hand is wet or greasy. Still, given the Stretch's handle design, even my Lignum Vitae Stretch, which is as smooth as the proverbial baby's butt, feels totally secure in my hand no matter what.

I appreciate that this is available, I like the g10 or CF bettter and often wonder why others are not offered in these handles. This is going to be a spyderco classic

Do I buy one now for $170 or try to find one on the secondary market? Damn this knife addiction.

Better spend the money on a new one. Anybody that buys one and uses it is going to find it really tough to part with.

I agree. I happened to find a deal with a trade, but it took some time and the guy who traded me took great care of it, basically nib.. 170 is a great price considering the msrp of it.
