Announcing the arrival on December 27 at 10:23 AM of My Son. Zen Antonio Derespina. Born 7 Lbs, 21" long and HEALTHY!

My first born and probably not my last BUT, an asbolutely life changing experience. Downright Spiritual. Holding my wife's right leg, helping her push and after a couple hours of screaming bloody murder, WHAM! this amazing lil' guy shot right out into the doctors hands.

I know many of our members have children. But for those who do not have any yet, I can now safely say it's the GREATEST thing that has ever happened to me and I hope we are to him as well.

The energy in the room was INTENSE as the contractions grew in size and frequency.

The fluid and blood explosion that immediately followed his birth was on one hand a horror show but on the other hand it was the point that my consciousness shifted to a place of total abandon and selflessness. That and between the helpless feeling of watching your wife in the utmost pain and being unablen to do anything about it except talk to her.

I am truly, deepy greatful to be a Father.

Sincerely,
Rich

Attaboy. Congratulations. It really is a life changing experience. I'm sure you will have lots of fun together. There is nothing more wonderful (except daughters).

Hey RDT--don't get him his tinfoil hat just yet. Wait till he develops his own conspiracy theories.:D

Seriously, enjoy every minute-they pass too quickly.

Thanks guys, I can't articulate just how proud and excited I am.

Shaldaq...Tin foil Pyramid hats are on hold....just for a bit...;)

Congratulations and welcome to the world of no sleep and no privacy. Enjoy it and it can be one of the most rewarding times of your life.

Ah, I still remember the tension, the excitement, and the energy.

Just the same for the last (twins!) as for the first (a beautiful baby girl -- the joy of my life, believe me!!).

You are a lucky, lucky man and I'm glad to see you know that. You've got a long road ahead of you -- challenging and rewarding.

When I was a young and single man (somewhere around the turn of the millenium as I recall), I used to think life was all about me and satisfying my own needs.

It's not. Family is what it's all about. I didn't have the slightest idea of what it meant to be a man until I looked in my baby's sweet face. I finally grew up that day. It put a permanent smile on my face, spring in my step, and ambition in my heart.

Lucky, lucky man.

Ah, the miracle of life, of birth. Congratulations. When you think about it, it's purely amazing that it works at all.

Here is my prayer for health for the mother and child.

Congratulations dad!

What a wonderful way to end a year and start a new one.

Congratulations!!!

You will now find that your life will suddenly become much more vibrant and enjoyable in most ways, as well as upsetting and worrying in a few others. It's kind of like in the movie "The Wizard of Oz", when it switches from black and white to color. After the first baby, you look back on the earlier part of your life as rather dull!

Way to go, bro!

Congratulations to you and your wife,
and a long and happy life to the little guy.

Congrats Pop! I've got three myself and I'm proud to be a Dad.Sounds like he's a lucky boy too.All the best to you, little Zen and Mom.:)

Thanks everyone! Already we worry and worry about him. He's such a lil' guy right now and so fragile. Whenever he cries for something, we jump outta bed or from whatever we are doing(usually staring at him) and stress over whether we are caring for him correctly.

So far so good. But stressful still. After the stress it's bliss and we spend hours just staring at him and kissing him in his sleep.

:D :D :D

Once the initial bloodbath of childbirth is over, being a Dad is great! Congradulations and post a picture when you're able.

-Bob
