My number came up for a new 3.5" XM-18. Is $625.00 too much?

Thanks guys for all your input and discussion. This worked out great for me and in the end I was able to find a great deal on a quality high end EDC from the sales forum. This thread was great example on how threads should go. No bitter words or troll like comments. Great job.

Congrats on your knife....nice score :thumbup:

Way to go!

I have owned or own Striders, CRK's and a Hinderer.

They all are great knives, and none of them are worth $625.

That Strider is very unique among folding knives. It will serve you well.

No buyers remorse like you would have had with the SIX HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE DOLLAR XM-18.

That is a great knife but am I missing something? That's not a GG or a Digicamo blade.

"New Strider MFS, Gunner Grips with Digi Camo blade. shipped for $500.00"

During the coarse of this post, one viewer brought up the that there was a very nice SMF CC of the sales forum right now from a trusted forum member and it was at a excellent price. I am going to carry it as a EDC so GG or CC is the same size and weight in the pocket. Being a hunter, I even loved the Ranger green color. I believe for what I paid for it, I will always get most if not all my money back if I ever decide to sell it. Pluss I dont have to worry about that first scratch. I figured Strider's warrant follows the knife so there is no advantage for me buying new from a users perspective.

Thanks,
I plan on field dressing, skinning and butchering a deer after Christmas during late archery/muzzle loader season. I have a extra deer tag just waiting to be used. I may even take some pics for the forum of the knife doing its job.:D

I got lucky (extremely) and paid less than $425 shipping included for a NEW in the box XM-18 flipper. I am currently waiting for the knife to arrive. The person (I am not going to mention his name) even let me choose the color of the scale I wanted on the XM-18.

:D:D:D

oh, you can tell us. we are good at keeping secrets :)

ive been waiting for almost a year now, and it looks like my dealer keeps raising the price every few months. when i get my call, they may want $625 too...if it costs that much, then i would probably back away from the sale. if i could get a 3.5" flipper for the price above, i would overjoyed.

Check out the sales forum. Just listed XM-18 flipper for $500.00 shipped.

Merry Christmas

That one's a good deal. The first one for $625 is a smidge high, plus it looks like he put a scotchbrite finish on it - significantly lowering it's value.

I like the Duratech 20CV myself too. I don't know why. My CTS-XHP XM-18 & 24 were problem free but the 1st one I bought was the 20CV and it just looked like a nicer steel to the naked eye (mine anyway). :)

Well.........if I tell you the name of the person, he might be upset and would not sell me any other HINDERER in the near future, and I am currently waiting to get an XM-24 at a terrific price from him, not the overinflated ones I have seen lately.

;)
