My Old 110....or is it?

Here's some photos of the two three-line 5th version variations. I'm still looking for a two line variation.

I questioned a guy on that famous auction site about his auction and got THIS back:

Years back Bernard Levine published the first book on the Buck 110 which broke down into four catagories.First version 1964 to 1965.Second version 1966 to 1969.Third version 1970 to 1976. fourth version 1977 to 1980.Now what happened was Blade magazine came out with a Knives &Their values book which broke down the Buck 110 into eight versions which makes things more complicated. To me the four versions is easier to deal with. For instance yours would be a second version, type 7.Now for another instance a fourth version, type 1 would be the first 110 to come out with two dots.Blade has it as a sixth version with the date listed as 1974 to 1980.That really blows me away because the first dotted 110 hit the market in early 1977.The reason I know this is that I started collecting the 110`s in 1973 and purchased a new one every year clear into the late 80`s.I`m also a member of the Buck collectors club.

So....there are apparently two systems in use and some choose to use the old one and some the new.

I'm fascinated.....and sure I will never be able to make head nor tail of this.

:D

Yeah, that's the word I use while pulling out my hair trying to keep up with all this.
If there's a test, I'm cutting class.

Goose & All of the other Nuts,

The best and easiest way to tell what version you have is like this. Open the blade....close your eyes.... toss your knife up and catch it in your hand...blade first. Now read the cut in your palm. It'll tell you what version and variation you have every time :p  :D

OK, JOHN!!! I tried that. Next time I am NOT closing my eyes. Now there's a cat in my 'hood running around with a "old" 110 stuck in its' tail.

Hey Jb.

Have you tried staying at a holiday Inn express?
That might work.

Hound dawg is laying low. She did one of those things she'll only do once.
Let's just say that my laptop power cord is now patched with electrical tape.

Oh, I guess that should be under the "what did I cut today" thread.
Electrical tape with my 298GY.
