My own round knife thread

Chris you are very welcome! It was fun and they are nice knives. I ground out 5 roundknives yesterday and 2 skivvers. They went off to HT today. Yep that is Desert Ironwood. A few cracks there (pretty normal with ironwood) ya just kind of plan out your handle and cut around the cracks. If you've never used it before give me a shout and I can talk ya through it, pretty easy.

Evolution of a design. Modified my 3 remaining blanks more to fit the suggestions by Dave and others. Namely shortening the handles, thinning the edge and removing the acute tips. Will be putting a handle on one of these in the next few days for saddle maker Ronny L Martin.

Looks good Chris. That osage orange is tough to work without burning it isn't it.

It is. I tried to avoid most of the burning by using fresh belts and a light touch to get the shape I was after. I also started hand sanding sooner than on a lot of materials and started using a 60 grit paper to remove the few burn marks I did have. Normally I start with a 150grit to hand sand.
