My poor mans pack kit- edited to show Fishing pics!!!

Thanks for the replies. Let me apologize for thread jacking and get this thing back on topic.

Nice kit NC527, looks like I'll need to go buy some mentos gum for the containers.

Well thought out kit. I'm sure it will suffice when needed. :)
I love those Mentos gum containers. They are cheap and perfect for holding all sorts of items like tinder, .22 ammo, slingshot ammo, fishing kits, sewing/repair kits, etc.
I can see using them for the fishing gear, but when it comes to packing .22 ammo in a small container it's hard to beat those small white plastic Bayer aspirin bottles. Save the cotton stuffing that almost always comes with them so you can stuff it back in on top of your ammo. Keeps it from rattling around that way. ;)

I got my miox on ebay for $71 shipped to my door. Brand new, never used, all paperwork, salt, and strips. Just had to buy new batterys, so for for a total of $75 bucks I had a working miox.

Used for the first time on slow moving tar river water today, and worked great, although I had to treat it twice to kill all the nasties. I used a bandana for a prefiler, and the water was pretty much clear. After waiting 30min, I drank it, and it tasted like tap water, so that was a big A+ in my book.

A set of surefire cr123a batterys cost $4.59 at Lowes, and will purify 200 liters of water.

Ryan- Im glad to see the Mora getting some use!...i knew buying a box of em would pay off someday ;) I dont have any pics of my kit, but i always liked keeping the contents in a metal coffee can (the ones that are about 6" tall X 4" across) so I have something to boil water in, and the can fits inside most packs/pouches. and did you ever get that custom nessy made?

Thanks for that mora man, I really love it. Notice the kydex I made for it?

As far as that nessie is concerned, I have the design drawn up, just never mailed it out. I need to get on it. If you look at a kershaw JYD 2, I took that bladeshape, and took the hump off the top.

Went out today and did a little shad fishing, and decided to bring along the miox, and my small kit.

Calmed back down a bit. When it stops foaming, its done.

Pouring the solution into my nalgene.

And lastly, a few shots of the river, and a double my dad caught.
