My problems with Case.

4 out of 4 is not good. I really hope Case will come through as they should. I
personally have over 70 Case knives dating from 1973 to 2007 and one has a lazy secondary blade. The models I have are: Trapper, Dogleg Trapper, Copperhead, and Stockman. Blades are: CV, SS, and Damacus. Scales are Stag or Bone.
Please keep us posted on how this turns out. Later, Bob

You're not being unreasonable at all. I just posted earlier today about Case.

The not-so-good: I recently looked at a Stockman, then a Mini-Trapper, and I bought the Mini. Big issues with over-polishing, etc. Both knives had issues, the Mini-Trapper had fewer.

I don't buy these knives online anymore, because of this. I have to see it and hold it first.

The good: I had a Case large Trapper from my high school days, that the blades were worn out on. I sent it back to Case, and they re-bladed it for me. The thing looked practically new when I got it back.

Case still makes decent knives, but they're kind of going overboard with the quality statements, IMHO. I hope Case learns soon that if you're going to preach quality, you better build it. I know a few people who are turning away from Case these days.

thx - cpr

I tell ya I buy all my Case Knives at Smoky Mountain Knife Works!
To me they beat the socks off of everyone out there on there price and return, turn around.

12 days with no contact from Case after my email means that I will NEVER own another knife from them again! I refuse to do business with a company that will not return an e-mail from a customer with concerns!! Some have said I may get better service from them if I call but in this day and age that is an excuse to me.
Oh well- another lesson learned the hard way- and now another company gets my money- I am not really a slip joint guy anyways!

Most companies respond better to phone calls than to email. Many don't respond to email at all, even though they have an email address. That's just the way things are, in 2007. Maybe in five years it'll be different....
