*** when im travelling through marshland i take the bushman ***

something not pictured in this thread but posted in another is my edc: swiss army one hand trekker.

i usually wear my proteus either slung across my back from right shoulder down to left side of ribs or wear it as a butt bag.

cheers

Neat, thats almost exactly what I carry, I like the smaller packs, just what you need, whatever else I need, I get while im out'n'about.

exactly. when im out in the woods for extended periods, i take my vaude 35 litre pack and piggy back my proteus psk onto it. does everything i need and more,

i keep a back up first aid kit in the pack just incase

other then that this is all i need for day trips, its nice, light and efficient

red orange and grey.

the thing i love about vaude packs is that aeroflex techonology which helps pass air along your back so you dont collect alot of sweat there.

helps u keep cool.

also it is very easily adjustible and distributes the weight beautifully across your shoulders and upper back instead of your lower back where it'd cause pain, stress and discomfort.

ahh, awsome, the reason I ask is because a while ago I was looking at one, and i've just kinda remembered it to this day, may have to look for one :D

can't go wrong with a vaude pack

they are AWESOME day packs as well as for multi-day treks.

go try one and im sure u wont be disappointed

woops. forgot to add, i have katadyn water purification tablets in there

sorry i forgot to add that

It looks like a well thought out kit.

I would increase your shelter building materials. The space blanket is good but I would want some form of plastic sheeting, cordage, and duct tape.

I found these neat 2x3 meter clear plastic tarps, folded they are about 3x4x.5 inches. One of them will increase the potential of any expedient shelter exponentially. Mac

Looks like you have it all covered. I love having kits like that all ready to go. I just grab some water and granola bars, and head out the door.

thanks for the idea pict i will try and find those plastic tarps and throw in some cordage as well.

um RR the reason i carry the 2 seals is just because :D can never have too many good knives while out on a hike.

i guess its because the sog seal pup has always been on the proteus and the elite is a newer addition.

the elite is worn on my belt and i guess i just like having both :D

cheers
