My Proteus PSK (warning: picture heavy)

That pack is a stunner! Where can I find more info about them please?Less is best with hiking packs, who wants to carry a house around with them???

the proteus is available at maxpedition.

fonly the seal pup elite is absolutely AWESOME.

i like the proteus as apposed to the other versipacks because the others were a tad to big for my liking.

cheers

I will have to be honest here, I have only lived here for a year as I'm from the UK and so have not done a lot of places including the Juan de fuca trail.
I have however heard it is really nice and do plan on doing it soon....maybe you can drop by and see me !!!:D

Lots of neat kit in a nice pack. Makes me rethink my larger (too large) version.

As a thought, the paracord could be wrapped around the bottom of the sheath.

A bobbin of nylon dental floss gives you lots of length of something good for lashing toghether light poles for shelter at very little weight/space cost (Add a suitable neelde, and you can sew things up -- clothing, you [ ].)

If you could fit in some heavy-duty aluminum foil, you could have an expedient water boiling container, cooking pan, and backup signal device (or hang an aluminum cup on the outside?)

Thats one thing I like more than a pan, its heavy tinfoil, Its light, packable and easier to pack. But stong enough to cook, and boil water in.

Years ago, I used to carry my old-style Gerber LMF (No sawback! :D ) horizontally strapped to the bottom of my Mountainsmith fannypack. I liked that it was more or less out of sight, but not "concealed" and was still within reach. My wife borrowed the pack for a dayhike and when she returned the sheath was empty!! (Then again, I milked that for years . . .)

And everything you could need, except for a small tarp, But i'll carry that someother way :D

Hey, how do you guys carry your wasit packs? So that the contents are around your back, or so that they stick out in the front?
