I'm not sure how to post pics yet, but here's the link

Just sent this to Peter R, he's doing some minor tweaks to it. I know he's backed up right now but if he can make this thing come to life, which I dont doubt he can, I would not mind waiting.

Specs I have in mind: 3.75-3.9 inch blade, tumbled finish, satin flats, in M4 steel. Blasted titanium framelock. Lightning strike CF on the non locking side. Overall length around 9 inches.

Feel free to pick it apart..maybe some suggestions

Will be nice to see it in true form.

Nice sketching! I see inspirations from ZT and Hinderer. Looks to be a great folder. I would not mind having a folder like that at all!

Your welcome, nice looking knife BTW. I'd nix the tanto tip personally.

Good eye! Yeah I had ZT, hinderer, Manix 2 in there. It won't have a secondary cutting point as a traditional tanto. I want a decently thick blade and wanted to keep the majority of the thickness close to the tip but yet still have piercing capabilities.

Have you picked steel, handle material, size?

Nice! Loving that blade shape, kind of like an xm lion steel ZT mosh pit of awesome

Some constructive critism: The fantastic looking blade is a bit too large to fit in that handle, the thumb studs will give you some issues there and your lockbar's geometry looks like it would cause some problems (the bar should be inline with the cutting edge of the blade instead of angled towards the spine I think) All stuff that would be easy to sort out in a prototype.

Yeah, that was one of the things that need some tweaking was the handle length. As far as the geometry, I'm gonna leave that to the expert. I just hope the rendering I get back will still resemble what I came up with

The handle reminds me of the Spyderco Manix (good choice for a hard use handle;))

I realize this is just a conceptualization, but the blade cutout...is that supposed to be a finger choil? It looks a bit small. I cannot tell if you plan to have a plunge that extends to the blade (thus the cutting edge terminates against a blunt area) or if there is (what some call) a sharpening choil (which could cut a finger placed into this cutout)...something to consider perhaps?

Another thing to consider would be a lanyard hole...it seems there are VERY few knives without them. Personally I have no use for them, but if anyone is considering this for production, you may want to give that some thought.

None of these comments are intended as digs or insults. I think it is really cool that someone is thinking/drawing/designing. I just thought I would give some thoughts/comments that you may want to consider.

I think your choice of blade steel is a winner!

Yup the first finger choil could use a bit of enlarging. If you take a look at the Manix 2 first finger choil and how the actual cutting edge terminates in a slight hump then it goes into the choil..that's what I was going for. It will most definitely have a lanyard hole, I just haven't figured out the placement along with the pocket clip, tip up of course.

It looks like a cross between an XM18 and a Sniper Bladeworks knife (LPC i think?)... I like it, obviously needs some tweaks.. but overall nice.. i'd ditch the tanto and just do a high flat grind... but that's personal preference..

I think your on the right track ;) I like the Tanto idea and Peter does amazing work! Congrats! I'll be following this.

The tip of the blade looks wierd. Unnatural. IMO your trying to have too many features on the same knife. If you really want penetration you need to steepen the bottom edge some , my two cents. Interesting idea though.

quite a challenge. im working on the handles. the design seems too rounded for my likes. ill come up with something soon.
