My running knives. What's yours?

I don't run but bicycle. I usually go with a dragonfly H1. Small light and corrosion resistant. If I am walking the trail near my house especially with my dog I carry my Military.

I go for long fast walks (knees shot) and my CRKT Eros fits the bill to a tee. Very light, great flipper action, sharp and fairly immune to the elements of sweat and humidity. I wash and dry it at times but that's about it.

I would say my PM2 is the usual choice, but I'm starting to really appreciate how lightweight the opinel 8 is in jogging attire

I carry the Boker Subcom Titan, so light I forget its there, used it on my 13.1 mile half marathon run.

I take my sog flash 2... Not the best knife in the work but it offers a lot of blade for its weight. Plus the safety switch is useful just in case my clumsy self decides to miss a step

Currently I carry a ZT 801. Before that I carried a ZT 301. I am a big guy and neither seem to bother me clipped to my waistband at about 4 o'clock. I actually just ran a half marathon at Ocean Isle Beach two weeks ago. I carried my 801 for the entire race just to say I did it.

I typically carry when I jog because I am mostly on back wood trails.

There's a lot of good ideas for running knives here, especially the Spyderco Salt series.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one that has to carry a knife while running.

Congratulations to you both, a great accomplishment IMO. How about the full?

I ran track in HS, then put myself through a year of college running XC before bike racing took over my life. I couldn't imagine carrying a knife while running! Props to those who do... Due to the emergence of Strava, I try to carry as little as possible when I am forced to exercise on foot.

Stupid pride :grumpy:

When I do get the time to go jogging, I would carry my Spyderco Centofante 3. It's so light that I don't even know it's there.

For my jogs, it's typically the 0550. But that run is from the television to the refrigerator for the next snack. I don't do lotot of jogging as much though, most of my time is spent at the gym on machines and free weights. I could benefit from something leightweight. I've been eyeing up one the newer superblue sprints from spyderco or maybe a few of the newer kershaw offerings. Lighters is better for me in this regard.

I don't carry when I run, play sports or workout. But if I did it'd probably be a H1 dragonfly. Lightweight and it'll never rust.

If you jog often enough to warrant special jogging time equipment, you should be able to outrun any criminal or attacker along the way (since you're not likely to run into a gang of cardboard boxes along the way, I am assuming self defense along the reportedly isolated and dangerous running routes is a prime concern)!! I would say that's your best bet; you're the guy who jogs everyday, and you happen upon the robber that practices knife fighting every day and he isn't constrained by gym shorts and the want of a lightweight folder - your VG-10 Delica will be no match for his Indonesian Karambit or switchblade, or ridiculously large bowie knife - or his Jennings throw a way .380 - but your Nike air maxes will leave his combat boots / flip flops in the dust. Play to your strengths running man, make it a real sprint run, and not just a Spyderco one.

I prefer heavier blades as it adds weight to the training load.....
Spydie Endura.

I carry a BK9, but it's not while running, it's so I don't have to run. ;)

Actually, my Al Mar is so light, clipping it into running shorts or sweats would be negligible and still present me with a 4" blade that deploys well and feels great in the hand.
Then again, depending on how comfortable you are with wearing things around the neck, a BK11/14 or Izula models are lightweight on the neck and still provide you plenty of options.

Just my $.02.

Thanks
HAHAHA a full!!!??? the half was plenty for me... a 5'4" wrestler 165lbs (at the time of the race) who never ran cross country.... farthest I ever ran before that was about 5miles during wrestling season in 8th grade (about 12 years ago) lol
btw finished it in 1hr and 57mins and some change

Pretty much.

Also there is nothing worth having on me when I am out running.
