I normally collect autos of a different brand but these were so nice I bought two :D

Maybe the surroundings aren't dark enough so it didn't appear in your pictures. How does it work? Does it require a power source of some sort?

You just push the button with the safety off and the damn thing swings open fast. To close it you hold in the button.
 
I took a picture in low light so you could see what it looks like. It’s not a very good picture but at least you can see that it does glow.

does anyone know where i can buy one online for a decent price? (i am mil)

also, the lower part of the handle... with the grooves for your fingers... is that part aluminum?
 
Lets just pretend for a minute....Order directly from SOG. Also, apparently you don't have to be in law enforcement or the military to obtain one of these knives over the counter. You should also check that these knives are legal in your state just to be informed. It doesn't matter in some states what your profession might be. Possession and/or carry may still be illegal.

The entire handle is aluminum. "...machined 6061T6 hard-anodized aluminum is inset with G10 type textured inlays."

Ohhhhhhhhh - I think I get it now! I think I was just unwilling to believe it because a lot of the auto knife manufacturers (Protech being a wonderful exception) are extremly cagey about shipping an automatic knife to anyone but a knife/gun dealer. Benchmade says "military only" and means it. Microtech will happily ship to your local gun shop (if you can get them on the phone)...

Back on topic, these SOG autos look fantastic!! I think I'll have to get one pretty soon her to test it out - I really like the satin bladed one. Can you tell me how thick the blade is and how thick the handle is? Thanks - Jim
 
Good thing we're all pretending here... because otherwise the little problem of shipping them might be an issue (depending on where you live)...:cool:
