My Take on the WSK Design

Nice work! They look like real hard-working blades. Especially that blue handled one!

You can email for any pricing questions. Not taking orders right now but I can give you a ballpark price. Steel is 0-1 and thickness would be 3/16" stock.
Thanks for looking :)

well, here she is. The knife is larger than my Becks. This is the first time I have had them side by side. I didn’t use the original as a basis for the pattern because it would have restricted my simpler interpretation.
Anyway, I still have to mark the knife and make the sheath but all in all I say this is a knife anyone would like banging around in the bush with:thumbup:

Knife is made from 0-1 steel and Natural Micarta and feels great in the hand!!!

Thanks for looking fellas, I thought you would enjoy the pictures :)

That's a great looking knife bro and I would take that over a Tracker version, however the whole concept of the Tracker is that the blade is a multi-faceted design to enable different tasks to be performed. So to be honest yours cannot really be compared to the Tracker !!!!

Like I stated, its a more simplistic take on the WSK pattern. Nothing more or less. Thread not meant to debate the WSK concept, just thought you guys would enjoy seeing a knife that I can clasify as a Wilderness Survival Knife (WSK). I enjoyed David Becks original knife as the insparation for the knife since his knife was my first custom knife I ever owned. Glad to hear that you would grab the simpler version fist pitdog. :)

Really impressed with the handle. The shape looks very comfortable and secure and the natural micarta looks great. The blade looks like it would cut like crazy.

Yours actually looks more usable to me than the original WSK. That may well be because it favors traditional design over supposedly multifunctional design. Or it may just be that I am an old codger who believes he can coax those few other functions from a traditionally designed knife. I dunno. Send me both and I will give them a good workout this winter on my canoe trip.

I am not a fan of the Tracker at all. I can think of many, many knives I would grab way ahead of the Tracker.

I can't think of many knives I would grab ahead of that beauty though! That's one of maybe three knives I've seen in my life that really made my pulse race. Jeez, what a beauty.

Like misanthropist, I'm not a fan of the tracker either. Or recurved 'big knives' in general, but that's got really nice lines. It definitely looks a little more practical for what I'd want. I'd be the lineup with Codger, but I'd be in a heap o' trouble........
