How is this? I would have thought they were the same at least in steel and I would of thought any metal. Inquiring minds want to know.

Roger, ductility measures the amount a steel will stretch after it starts to deform, toughness measures the resistance to crack formation from sudden impacts. In general they are strongly correlated but the relationship is nontrivial as the loading times are very different and so different properties are controlling the behavior. As a simple example, people can be very flexible but not be able to take a punch, so can steels.

Ooh, that's nice!

I was just reading about web design last night, and one place commented that presenting new information is often difficult. Gathering and organizing old information can be just as good if done correctly, and much easier to pull off.

Incidentally, your site is beginning to remind me of a portal. You might want to look at sites such as Yahoo and the like for ideas. Another site commented that the art of web design lies in how, when, where you present information, and not just what.

I digress....

Great job MDP, I am having my web mistress link to this.

Eye,

Great stuff! I for one appreciate the effort. I get asked a lot and most questions are redundant. Your site helps out!

Eye,

Thanks for taking my suggestion to order the thread references chronologically. I just checked out your site and really think that it makes a great improvement for those who want to access the most current info or trace the development of Talonite as an exceptional blade material from day one. Again, thanks

Marion the indendation makes it much more readable and the sections now flow into each other much nicer. An excellent suggestion by Bob on the date sorting, that is very useful.
