I recently purchased a used strider sng from a member on this forum. It was in dire need of a sharpening and had a lot of up and down blade play. I live about an hour and a half from the Strider factory. I emailed Josh to see if I could drop it off myself for repair and sharpening. He said it was ok (he responded within an hour!). So I headed down to San Marcos expecting to drop off the knife and be without it for a couple of weeks. When I arrived I immediately noticed that everyone seemed extremely busy. The roll up door to the shop was open so I walked up to it and someone asked if I needed help. I explained the issues with my knife and the gentleman asked if I was in a hurry. I said no so he called over another employee and told him to fix my knife. The guy who worked on my knife was very friendly and we chatted while he worked on it. He even showed me his custom smf. Then he gave my knife to someone else to sharpen . All in all it took them less than 10 minutes to make my knife like new! I was expecting to wait for it for a few weeks but they took care of me right on the spot! I was totally blown away by their awesome customer service. Thanks to the Strider crew. You guys are truly 1st class! My sng is now hair popping sharp and locks up with no movement in any direction! I love it!

is that san marcos,ca??????? if so thats crazy! i used to live like 5 min from san marcos, ca and didnt know they were that close!

Glad to hear about great customer service. I am a big Strider fan. Would love to see their factory.

I just have a question. How did they repair the up and down play?

Strider builds blade stops two ways: on some the stops are the same size on each side so the fix on that would be to put a larger pin on the titanium side. Some striders like mine, already come with a larger pin on the titanium side, the fix for this is for them to bend the lock bar over a little. They also put a hardened tungsten coating on the lock face where it contacts the blade tang to help with wear
