My vote for the best all around cheapy

D@MN, I knew someone would say that sooner or later. For the future, let us keep this thread to just plain "cheap." Otherwise we shall find ourselves in a flame war over for-the-money best knife (not again;) ).

No disrespect Mr. Mayo, this is just my opinion and I ain't no moderater.

BTW, my vote goes to the two knives I carry daily. One is a CS 3" Voyager I bought online for $30. The other is an Old timer clone I got at Wal-mart for $5. I use it when the CS is too polictical incorrect.

I have a CRKT Mirage that I have used as edc for over a year and it has definitely been worth the 20 bucks I gave for it. I can't believe how smooth and tight the lock up is for this inexpensive knife. And even I can get it scarey sharp;)

Cold Steel Bushman or Mini-Bushman come mighty cheap. Got a couple of the bigger ones on sale for less than $12 each a few years ago. Dead simple construction and lots of belly for slicing, but mine needed serious sharpening NIB.

crkt crawford KFF, or a 800S BM from newgraham at $67.50, hard to beat either one imho

SAK Locking blade with saw and awl for overall utility/survival

Bushman by CS close second, can be made into spear or long range chopper when attached to pole

Frosts Mora for outdoors

And, if its considered cheap enough within this category, best all-around survival/defense blade for very few dollars: Becker CU7

Douk Douk. I have one of the small models with the 3 inch blade. They can be found for about 20 bucks and are some tough folders. In some ways, the Sebbies are cheap knives. I've cut my spending almost down to nothing since I've gotten my Umfaan.
Matt:D :p

I'll cast a vote for the CRKT.
I had a small Apache III that I could carry daily at the office. Aluminum handle ATS-34 blade for $35 shipped-couldn't beat it... until I got a CRKT small S-2. That is an ultra cheapo Sebenza (or Umfaan...):p [had to get that in there...].
Seriously though... Titanium handled frame lock, ATS-34 blade (soon to be BC coated). All that for $40 shipped!!! Tough to beat for a cheapie daily carry..?!:D

Another Opinel vote.., awfully hard to beat for the $$$...and in honesty.., better than many 3X the price...

"Hunters seek what they [WANT].., Seekers hunt what they [NEED]"

I would have to go with the Schrade Beast(Old Timer).;) This knife cannot be beat for the price...$20 at Wallymart.

However, my Spyderco SE Delica never leaves my side... :D

Gerber LST. List under $20, picked a second one up at Wal-Mart for about $15. Light as a feather, 2-1/2" blade is long enough for nearly everything I have ever needed, non-threatening, I love mine.

Another SAK vote here. With all but the "everything but the kitchen sink" models selling for about $10-$30 (if you shop around), I don't think you will find a better knife deal in terms of quality and utility than a SAK.
