My wife is hilarious.

not that I should tell anyone how to do it, but my wife and I have a budget each month for whatever we want within the budget of course. she don't bug me about what I buy and I don't bug her. works very very well. no lying and sneaking going on.

prior to raising kid when we both worked we kept separate accounts and pitched into the bill account based on percentages of income to make it more fair. all debatable of course.. and never ever fought over money.

Separate bank accounts is how I roll. Got married at 39 and was my wife’s second marriage so she did not want to intertwine money (bad experience the first time). At age 39 never married was not going to start asking permission for discretionary spending, and I am not wreck less with money anyway.

She does not care as long as I pay the bills. She has her own job and makes close to what I do and pays part of the bills herself.

New knife in the mail now, she does not know and I won’t bring it up or show her. She does think it is a waste of money but again it is my money after bills are paid so not her concern.

My ex was really mean and angry about whenever I bought anything for myself. Fortunately I eventually had the sense to get out of that relationship. My current girlfriend is much nicer. I don't hide anything from her, and she never gives me any grief or shame for it. She was cheering for me when I was frantically purchasing my BHQ PM2 Tanto in M4. She does poke fun at me for how expensive my Medfords are though. That's fair.

My wife is a good sport. She tolerates my habit. Although- 20 years together she has NEVER a ol ought me a knife!!

my wife doesn't care. It's my hobby, and she has her hobbies. I'm the sole provider at the moment, so as long as the bills are paid, money is in the bank, and we have food and the kid is taken care of, it doesn't really matter! We've been together over 20 years though, and married for almost 6. It's all good.
